Bloodlines
DĂÂșnĂ© Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
He's messed up and I don't care
When love is put aside he ain't asking for more
He's a total waste, but he's still going strong
"I can't help it
Couldn't do it
I'm Jaywalking
In my most desperate hour I'm covered in pills."
When she comes back home it will catch her ear
Your fiddling will be spoiled in a future near
My bloodlines are acting a bit strange
They are spoken for, but not out of range
"I can't help it
Couldn't do it
I'm Jaywalking
Against my will
In my most desperate hour I'm covered in pills."
I can't help my: BEAT!
I can't stop my: BEAT!
I can't hold my: BEAT!
It's my damn heart: BEAT!
I told you not to play with our gun's girl
The lyrics of DĂÂșnĂ©'s song Bloodlines seem to suggest a sense of betrayal and desperation. The first verse talks about the singer's best friend being in a bad state, but the singer doesn't care anymore. This could indicate that the friendship has been broken, possibly due to the friend's actions or behavior that has caused pain and made the singer lose interest in the friendship. The line 'when love is put aside he ain't asking for more' could suggest that the friend was taking advantage of the singer's love and care but is now left alone as the singer has moved on.
The chorus talks about the singer's addiction to pills and how they can't help but take them even though they don't want to. The use of the phrase 'jaywalking' could be a metaphor for making reckless choices and taking risks that could lead to harm.
The second verse talks about a woman who will soon find out about something that the singer has done, and it will ruin their relationship. The line 'my bloodlines are acting a bit strange' could suggest that there is something unusual happening in their family or ancestry that is affecting the singer's behavior. It could also refer to the singer's own behavior being unpredictable and uncontrollable, like their blood is acting up.
Overall, the song seems to be about a person who is struggling with addiction and relationships, and is experiencing a sense of hopelessness and despair.

Eh, also creates a blood bond.
Makes it easier to dominate a person into doing your bidding.
The Tremere are a good example of this with their pyramid build.
The younger bound to the "middle aged", who in turn are bound to the Elders.
So an Elder boosting a neonate has just gotten themselves a personal gopher who's a tad higher on the food chain than a mere ghoul (think Renfield out of Dracula).

One would think a 40k lore nerd would know this

@xz569 I believe he is speaking about his personal opinion about a non-WH40k property. Warhammer 40k, infinitely more awesome and interesting than Bloodlines, doesn't have to be injected into everything and him not including it doesn't make him less of a Warhammer lore nerd.
To clarify: I inserted the quote to poke fun at him because I believe he will be disappointed. Not that he is less of a Warhammer lore nerd than I.

Warhammer quotes appear to be quite universally appliable it seems. To our collective detriment.

Phyre sounds like something an edgy thirteen year old emo girl would come up with one night while moping in her room with the lights off and listening to My Chemical Romance or Linkin Park. She thinks calling herself that would make her seem mysterious, when in actuality it makes people want to roll their eyes at her.

@Levatt Wolfheart I can honestly see a malkavian or a brujah do that

@Levatt Wolfheart If only the protagonist wasn't, from what I understood, centuries old elder vampire who went to sleep in 1920s and now woke up 100 years later. I can't imagine a powerful vampire that old being an edgy teenager like that.
