In Denver's song "Los Adolescentes," the lyrics talk about the confusion and mixed signals often experienced in relationships during adolescence. The song describes a scenario where one day the person is told "good," while the next day they are told "I don't know." There is a constant change in feelings expressed through the statements "One day you tell me you want me, the next day you say maybe" and "One day you tell me later, the next day you say see." Additionally, the person is told conflicting messages about their behavior, being told one day they're too short and the next day to let it grow.
The chorus talks about the negative impact these mixed signals are having on the relationship, with the line "being so fatal doesn't suit you." Overall, the song expresses the confusion, uncertainty, and general unpredictability that comes with teenage love.
