So I'm turning off the tv and I smashed my radio
I am rejecting mainstream media and choosing to block out negative messages and images.

'Cause I realize my heroes are the people I already know
I have come to the realization that my true heroes are the ordinary people in my life.

And I'm burning up the papers and tearing up all the magazines
I am rejecting popular culture and media that promote false values and expectations.
