As I said, treating all politicians as equally corrupt is a lazy generalization which avoids actual consideration of the issues, and normalizes the worst people by putting them on the same level as the best. That short clip of Josh running from the rioters is what he will forever be remembered for, like, that is now his identity, that's his legacy! He had no problem supporting them and provoking them from a safe distance, but as soon as it started getting bad he ran, and the ones who didn't provoke or instigate the crowd stayed and faced off against the angry mob. The real heroes chose to stay put and defend the Capital and some of them even died for it. People like Cassidy Hutchinson, Caroline Edwards and Sarah Matthews knew they'd face backlash and controversy from testifying at the J6 hearings, but they all chose to do what was right and they deserve much respect for it!

While I was watching the hearing I was brought to tears. As as former soldier of the United States Army and Desert Storm Veteran who proudly and honorably served this country and gave my oath to defend against all enemies be they foriegn or domestic was heartbroken. To witness trump so blatantly and with no regard to the safety and wellbeing of not just the members of Congress or their staff, not just the men and women of law enforcement who gave they oaths to protect, but the American people who supported him, attempted to overthrow the government. An act I have witnessed happen in other countries in the Middle East, parts of Europe, and in Central and South America. But never in my wildest imagination thought an attempt coup would ever happen in the U S.A. We were supposed to be the country that the world looked too as an example how a democracy should be. My thoughts went to the men and women who I served with, and all the men and women who came before me like my father (GOD REST HIS SOUL) who served 42 years with tour to Vietnam, South America and the Middle East. And it brought me to tear to watch trump shit on all of us who proudly served and defended our great nation. And the pain of what trump attempted to do was amplified by the fact that thousands of Americans blindly followed trump to commit criminal acts and have the nerve, the audacity to call themselves patriots. There was absolutely nothing patriotic in their violent attempt to take over Congress, threatening to kill members of Congress, and openly express their desire to hang the Vice President of the United States of America. They disrespected every single American who has served this country. The actions taken by trump and those that blindly followed this lead have now and forever put a horrible stain on the United States of America. These actions have embarrassed me, and every single American. The saddest, most disturbing part is the fact that there are still many Americans who support trump even with the Mt. Everest of evidence to his guilt there are still Americans who are willing to obediently, and without questioning, fall in line and believe anything and everything trump says. It honestly boggles the mind that a single person would still be willing to support and blindly obey trump, even if it means they must commit crimes against America and the American people. The damage trump and his followers have done and continue to do to American is tearing this country apart. Even though his followers have severely declined, there are still enough to continue to harm The U.S.A. It should bring every single American to tears.

I recently argued about abortion with someone and during the argument, I had us both look up the meaning of abortion. They were 100% against abortion except for when the mother was about to die.

When we agreed that the definition was an "active or willful termination of pregnancy" and not "killing unborn kids", I referred back to part of their argument where they didn't consider their abortion an abortion because the fetus had died.

Yet when induced labor and c-sections were included under the umbrella of abortions (as they are the willful termination of a pregnancy), suddenly the definition we'd just agreed on was wrong because that was "birth" started early. The same couldn't be said about miscarriages, which when unexpected weren't abortion but when, were?

Long story short, the definition was agreed upon then changed on the fly the moment it didn't fit their narrative

Adam Kizinger's closing statement was powerful and there's no one that can argue or disagree against his words. The world needs to move on from Trump. Republicans need people like Kizinger or Cheney in their party to show that there's still good respectable ones in their party. They are working hard to right the wrong that was Trump. I applaud their hard work and I feel for the hard road they've laid out for themselves because they truly are trying to defend our democracy. They're not traitors, they're just doing their jobs legally and responsibly as they were appointed to do so; by the people, for the people.

Also he's an opinion news show. Colbert is supposed be comedy but it is actually insanely biased propaganda that fools get their news from.

One important detail to keep in mind when listening to the Secret Service agents telling their families that they might be coming home, is that these agents are not students hiding under desks or shopper locking themselves in a cooler to protect themselves. They ARE ARMED with assorted firearms and TRAINED in the use of those weapons and in the application of deadly force. Think about that for a moment. They have the means to protect themselves and their charge, the vice president along with his family, and they are gravely concerned about all of them getting out alive.

@Ellis JK If you are in law enforcement currently, you need to find another profession. The lives of those that do not have the means to protect themselves from a violent attack such as the school shootings at Uvalde ARE WHAT IS PARAMONT! The officers there were also armed with AR's AND were in numbers far greater than the ONE SHOOTER. They also have had response training supposedly in these types of crisis situations. The lack of initiative, courage, intestinal fortitude and intelligence to quickly formulate a plan of attack is despicable and totally unacceptable. I was enraged when I saw them standing around with their heads up their asses as innocent children and teachers were being murdered within a short distance away. Yes, coming home after the shift is over is a priority, but it is below that of doing what you signed on for and that is to protect the community in your charge. If you cannot overcome your fears to do the right thing, then hang it up. You are a danger to yourself and others.
