In D. Tucker's song "Last Night," the singer is unable to sleep after having a fight with their loved one. They are saddened by the disagreement and spend the whole night missing their partner. The singer has a recurring dream that they hold their partner tight, which did not occur because they were unable to sleep. The singer's insecurities are resolved when they call up their loved one in the morning to check if everything is okay. The lyric "I knew that you'd be sorry, and I'm sorry, too," indicates that both parties involved in the argument are apologetic and remorseful.
This song does not follow the traditional structure of most country songs that tell an entire story, instead, it focuses on a single moment in time--the aftermath of a fight. This song's theme of apologetic reconciliation following a conflict has made it popular among karaoke enthusiasts that enjoy falling country ballads. "Last Night" is a good representation of how people can feel when they are in a relationship and don't agree with their partner.
