Just Friends
D. Woods Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Just friends, lovers no more
Just friends, but not like before
To think of what we've been and not to kiss again
Seems like pretending it isn't the ending
Two friends drifting apart
Two friends, but one broken heart
We loved, we laughed, we cried, and suddenly love died

Overall Meaning

In D. Woods's song Just Friends, the lyrics talk about a relationship that has reached its end. The song describes how two people who used to be lovers are now just friends, but the dynamics of their relationship have changed. They can no longer kiss or express themselves in the same way as they used to. The lyrics talk about how pretending that their breakup is not the end of their romance is futile. It is clear that the two people in the relationship have grown apart and their love has died. The song beautifully portrays how two friends can go from being lovers to just friends.

The lyrics of the song remind us of the bittersweet reality of relationships. Sometimes, things don't always go according to plan, and people grow apart. The lines "We loved, we laughed, we cried, and suddenly love died" evoke strong emotions that anyone who has been through a breakup can relate to. It talks about how two people invested time, emotions, and energy into their relationship but it still crumbled. In this song, D. Woods encapsulates the essence of moving on from a relationship that didn't work out.

This is the realist interview!!! She's absolutely right... there's so much more to just recording, performing and cashing checks.

D Woods girl if you’re reading this I hope you are having a great day, I’ll always appreciate your contribution to DK especially the second album. And you were always so professional on stage you’re without a doubt, the best performer of the group, from holding down the harmonies, to executing the intensive choreos you are the best.

Absolutely LOVE D-Woods! Smart, Articulate, and absolutely beautiful! That's why Diddy had a problem with her because some men fear smart, confident women!

@Anzeon

The music industry is very predatory. Many artists get caught up in the potential fame of their talent. They get got with bad contracts, not writing or producing their own material. Kudos 2 D. Woods 4 educating herself on the BUSINESS of music. Puffy is a pimp just like the rest of these record label owners & executives.

From watching making the band, diddy's never really seemed like he cared for DWoods. He probably realized she was smart and not gullible. He knew she wasnt gonna be taken advantage of easily like he did most of his other artists.
