Point Of View
DB Boulevard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't have a cent
Will I pay my rent?
And even my car doesn't work
Me and my man?
He's the one to die for...
We have split up

Can't you see life's easy
If you consider things
From another point of view
Ah ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah
In another way
From another point of view
Ye ye ye eh eh
Oh oh yeah
In another way from
Another point of view

I see life and light
All the colors of the world
So beautiful
Won't you come with me?

I see birds and trees

All the flowers of the world so beautiful
Won't you come with me?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of DB Boulevard's song Point of View may seem disjointed, with lines about financial troubles and relationship issues followed by a chorus about seeing life in a positive light. However, the overall message of the song is that one's perspective can make all the difference. The verses describe the struggles of the singer, who is broke and dealing with a recent breakup. However, in the chorus, the singer suggests that things can be easier if one simply adopts a different point of view. By looking at things in a new way, one can appreciate the beauty and joy in the world and have a more positive outlook on life.

This message is reinforced by the musical style of the song. The upbeat tempo and energetic instrumentation create a sense of optimism and possibility. The repetition of the "ah ah ah ah" and "ye ye ye eh eh" sounds in the chorus adds to the feeling of positivity and encourages the listener to join the singer in seeing life from a new perspective.

Overall, Point of View is a reminder that our outlook on life can have a profound impact on our experiences. By choosing to see things in a more positive way, we can find joy and beauty even in the midst of difficult circumstances.

I remember listening to this while homeless in my local subway close to the end of a relationship that was keeping me alive at the time. For a moment i enjoyed something and it was this song. I am 41 now traveling the world with my wife and our dog. Good things will come, just look from another point of view.

thats so crazy, i remember this song from when i lost my IT Helpdesk job after company restructuring in 2009, i was feeling lost and uncertain of my future as i couldn't find a new job for months... this song stuck in my head and changed my point of view, i stopped seeing my unemployment as a disaster but rather a chance to start fresh...i am 42 now, i am a core systems admin for a huge company and much happier in my job, i have a loving family and living a much better life than if i stayed in that old stuffy job, i just had to change my point of view , today im glad i lost that job!
