(Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one)

We're leaving together,
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

Oh

We're heading for Venus (Venus)
And still we stand tall
'Cause maybe they've seen us (seen us)
And welcome us all, yeah
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
Oh

The final countdown,oh
It's the final count down
The final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
Oh
It's the final count down
We're leaving together
The final count down
We'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown
It's the final countdown

Oh
It's the final countdown, yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of DJ Yoda's song Final Countdown present an interesting interpretation of the end of a journey that leaves everyone wondering about what is next to come. The opening line suggests that the singer is about to embark on a journey of some sort, but they are still bidding farewell to those who they leave behind. They seem to be unsure if they will ever be able to return to earth, as suggested by the line "maybe we'll come back to earth, who can tell?" This curious and somewhat ominous tone continues throughout the song, with the singer questioning if things will ever be the same again and expressing sadness at leaving behind what they will miss.

However, despite this sense of uncertainty, there is also a sense of determination and bravery in the song. The singer speaks of standing tall and looking forward to the things to be found in the future. They seem to be heading out towards Venus, and believe that they will be welcomed there. The repetition of the line "it's the final countdown" creates a sense of urgency and excitement around this journey, as though there is something big and important waiting for them on the other side. Overall, the lyrics of Final Countdown paint a fascinating picture of a journey into the unknown, filled with equal parts apprehension and excitement.

How to Cut and Paste the 80's mix is fantastic! I'm seeing DJ Yoda tomorrow in Kentish town along with the rather excellent DJ Kormac.

@p4ulio55

a dj who can put shitty 80s music together with a phatter beat deserves respect, to put a compilation of tunes like this together is magik in my books

@NastyRhythm

@RideBikes_Walkplaces

@ward1ism

I think people took this too seriously lol. Every time I hear this it makes me laugh lol (: and every time I hear the original version I always add in the 'Yeah' bit in my head.

I bought this "Cut & Paste 80s" CD of DJ Yoda's several years ago, and thought his mixing was a bit too "choppy" for my taste, and he reminds the listener what his name is wayyyyyy too much. However, with the passing of time I have found it to be one of the more enjoyable mix CDs I have ... Nostalgia in a fun new form - not for the dancefloor, per se, but super-fun for a road-trip! Further suggested mix CDs: DJ Z-Trip & DJ P - "Uneasy Listening, Vol. 1" DJ P - "Suck My Mixx"
