Something About You
DJ in the Night Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh I wanna roll one up, pull my hair up
Got a full cup, donβ€²t give a fuck, oh no, oh no
Oh, it'll be too long cause when youβ€²re gone and I get home
I need to get on you, on you

Is it your good looks or your lips below that make me blow
Is it the way you act like you don't care
When I'm the only one who kiss you there, ohh
You know itβ€²s true

Something about the night
Might let you come in
Just might let you come in

Something about the night
That keep me coming
That keep me coming

Oh, I got my butter cake all in your face
My ovens hot, just watch me bake
Good lord, ohhh
Ohh and eat it up and lick the plate
You know you just canβ€²t have one taste, no
No, no, no, no

Is it your good looks or your lips below that make me blow
Is it the way you act like you don't care
When Iβ€²m the only one who kiss you there, ohh

Something about the night
Might let you come in
Just might let you come in

Something about the night
That keep me coming
That keep me coming

Something about the night
I just wanna ride, I just wanna ride
Something about the night
It's a different kinda high, different kinda high

Something about the night
Might let you come in
Might let you come in

Something about the night
That keep me coming
That keep me coming

Something about tonight
I just wanna ride, I just wanna ride

Something about the night
Different kinda high, different kinda high

I first heard Elderbrook - Woman then found this track…

I’m 33, been on and off drugs and alcohol since age 17… started my journey of sobriety November 6, 2022….dancing and exercise help so much. Also knowing that you aren’t alone, that’s a huge help.

I’m in my apartment drinking coffee this morning after a sleepless night of insomnia… This song came on and i started dancing and started crying so hard. I think that’s a big emotional release of past trauma.

Whoever you are, whatever you are going through, never be afraid to show your release your emotion and to let things flow.

You aren’t alone. I got you. We got you.

My favorite part is the flex that they (we) all do first, and what it could mean.

Do we have to display strength before we can expose vulnerability?

Is it saying I have the strength to display vulnerability?

Is it commentary that even in our vulnerability we're expected to display strength.

And then when looking at how each person displays it to another or to the crowd it could have an entirely different meaning.

Is it letting go of that display if strength?

Maybe it's saying I'm here to join you so you don't have to hold it yourself.

Or maybe it's saying 'you've been strong long enough. I've got it now.'

So much. It could say so much. It it could mean so little. But no matter what; it's beautiful. This whole video is beautiful.

The Men's suicide prevention hotline and programs needs to use/show this song and video in their campaigns. As a struggling man with depression and anxiety, this spoke to me on another level. Hands down one of the most incredible music videos I've ever seen.

Too right.

@devALLjapan

I’m so glad that this spoke to you. I tried to show it to a mate with depression and he was completely bamboozled by it and didn’t understand the symbology and meaning at all.

They all know the dance because they all know the sadness and pain. They don't need to practice the dance because they already know it instinctively. It's a really powerful music video
