Cold Souls
DRAB MAJESTY Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When you walked away at dawn
I heard your song
And now it′s on my mind
Made a design on the right side of my heart
It may be wrong
But it wasn't black or white

Wondering when I look at your life if I caught you dead and numb
If you were only just a dreamer
If we were all night

When you were dead I took you by your head
When you were dead I took you by your head

What a wasted ode to hope
My heart is on the line
Staring at the time
And I gazed amazed
While a quiet storm was born inside your eyes
All dressed in black and white

Wondering when I look at your life if I caught you dead and numb
Thought you were only just a shadow
But you were all light

When you were dead I took you by your head
When you were dead I took you by your head

When you were dead I took you by your head
When you were dead I took you by y

The lyrics of DRAB MAJESTY's song "Cold Souls" are somewhat cryptic and open to interpretation but they seem to be about a complicated relationship that has come to an end. The song opens with the singer recalling a walk that their partner took at dawn, and despite their absence, the memory of their partner's song lingers in their mind. The lyrics suggest that despite the complexity of their relationship, there was a connection between them that left an impression on the singer. However, the phrase "made a design on the right side of my heart" suggests that while the relationship may have had a profound impact, it was not necessarily a positive one.

The lyrics continue with the singer contemplating the nature of their partner's life and whether they were truly happy or merely "dead and numb" inside. The ideas of light and dark are also explored, with the singer wondering if their partner was just a shadow or if they were full of light. In the chorus, the phrase "When you were dead I took you by your head" is repeated several times, which perhaps suggest that the singer is grappling with their own feelings of loss and confusion after the end of the relationship.

Overall, the lyrics of "Cold Souls" are somewhat enigmatic, but they seem to touch on themes of loss, regret, and the complexities of human connections.

Drab majesty with headphones 🎧 is euphoric. I'm not sure what it is about this song but when I listen to it with headphones on it brings tears to my eyes. I'm not sad or anything it just pulls emotions out of me from somewhere deep I guess.

@aniveritas

Me too, exactly the same 💜🌌

@@aniveritas I can only imagine...being intoxicated and blasting this on the earphones in the dark...while meditating on it...is it possible you may reach the other side?.....that remains to be seen...so ethereal...esoteric....arcane...ephemeral...like an out of body experience...similar to floating on "heaven's high"

Girl! I know! I love this song so much I’m going to cover it. I am learning music production, I’m going to have a friend of mine do the vocals, and give it a little bit of a metal edge. I’m going to upload it to SoundCloud, and maybe the right person will see it and appreciate it for what it is, love, homage and tribute to one of the best goddamn bands I’ve heard in a long time!
