He first got into music as a teenager, listening to contemporary Christian music and becoming a talented drummer. He said, "I had no interest in rap music. As a matter of fact, I was disenchanted with the whole idea of rap." However, Da' T.R.U.T.H. soon discovered his gift of free-styling, co-founded the group NIV, and gained his new nickname at the age of 19 to minister "da truth" to the urban culture. Da' T.R.U.T.H. is a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University and the Institute of Jewish Studies.

But you at another
How can I trust you
Oh how could you tell me
That you with your girls
But you never answer your line
You Trippin cause
I would never do this
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 O’clock
Can’t believe this
I am speechless
You left my heart on the floor
Then you walk through that door
But I am gone
Cause this ain’t real love

Da' T.R.U.T.H.'s song Real Love talks about the issue of betrayal and deceit in relationships. In the first verse, he talks about how some people sell their partners dreams and play games with them, leading them into believing that what they have is real love when in reality, it's not. He questions how someone could lie about their whereabouts and not answer their phone, making it challenging to trust them. He then realizes that he cannot continue with someone who does not love him genuinely and knows that what they have is not real love.
In the second verse, Da' T.R.U.T.H. tries to warn his partner about the games and lies that some people play in relationships. He acknowledges that some people might be attracted to the wealth and status of their partners and that they will sell them dreams to get what they want. He tries to convince his partner that he is different and that he has the kind of love she has been waiting for. However, if she does not want him for who he is, then he is done pretending and would instead leave than endure counterfeit love.
The chorus reiterates the message of the song: that what he thought was love was not real love. The repetition emphasizes how important it is to have authentic love in a relationship, and anything else is not worth it. Da' T.R.U.T.H. takes responsibility for the situation but also calls out his partner for her insecurities, which led her to doubt his love, and it ultimately led to a breakdown in their relationship.

There is a message in this song and all we can focus on is that he sounds like drake [in some people's opinion]? wow. How about understanding what it means to live a life of love. The concept of love has confused and hurt many people because they don't know real love which you can't know without knowing God because God is love. His example is the best example. Being a preacher in 2014 #scary
