Within
Daft Punk/Random Access Memories 2013 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There are so many things that I don't understand
There's a world within in me that I cannot explain
Many rooms to explore but the doors look the same
I am lost I can't even remember my name

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am
I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

There are so many things that I don't understand
There's a world within me that I cannot explain

Many rooms to explore but the doors look the same
(Where are the locks to the key)

I am lost I can't even remember my name
(And I wondered why)

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am
I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

Overall Meaning

In the song "Within" by Daft Punk, the lyrics describe a feeling of disorientation and confusion. The singer is lost within themselves and doesn't understand their own identity. They are searching for someone who can help them find their way and tell them who they are. The world within them is a vast and complicated place, with many rooms to explore but everything looks the same. They can't even remember their own name. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the importance of their quest for self-discovery.

The lyrics can be interpreted as a metaphor for the human experience. Many people struggle with finding their place in the world and understanding their own identity. The "world within" can be seen as the inner workings of the mind and soul, which are often difficult to navigate. The repetition of the phrase "looking for someone" suggests a desire for connection and understanding, which is a universal human need.

Overall, the song "Within" conveys a sense of vulnerability and uncertainty, but also a determination to keep searching for answers. It's a relatable and introspective piece of music that encourages listeners to embrace the journey of self-discovery.

That vibration shit is real, bro. Anyone who's really meditated, done psychedelics/DMT/etc can attest to how we can actually feel our bodies vibrate at higher frequencies (especially with DMT).

I've even tested that out with a DMT vape: I was able to modulate whatever frequency my body was vibrating at by hitting the vape.

Literally felt the buzzing increase as I took a puff, met and chilled with some cool high-frequency entities (one of them was bummed that I couldn't stay and I had to console it (you can't make this shit up)).

With the vape, it was easy for me to get repeatable results. But that's just me.

Anyways, yeah - vibrations. Raising consciousness. All that good stuff. And I absolutely agree that was Daft Punk's intention with that song hehe.

Good shit my dude. :)
