Within
Daft Punk Ft. Chilly Gonzales Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There are so many things that I don't understand
There's a world within in me that I cannot explain
Many rooms to explore but the doors look the same
I am lost I can't even remember my name

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am
I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

There are so many things that I don't understand
There's a world within me that I cannot explain

Many rooms to explore but the doors look the same
(Where are the locks to the key)

I am lost I can't even remember my name
(And I wondered why)

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am
I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

I've been for sometime, looking for someone
I need to know now, please tell me who I am

This songs made me, among many other people, realize that we truly don't know who we are and we want.
Today's life is lead on autopilot.
Most of the time, the decisions we make are influenced by other people's opinion, not ours.
Most of the time we care about other people's opinions, not ours.

We're all just lost.
We think we know what we want, but most of us don't actually.

We live in a world where all of a sudden we are presented by so many choices for careers and futute that we get overwhelmed and lost.
The pressure put on all people is high because the demands for a 'functional' world as it is today are high.
We are distracted with the flash and glamour.

Instead of focusing on me, me, me so much, let's invest time and energy in other people.

Not for the benefit of us and for having an upper hand on them later on.
But for the benefit of mankind.
One good deed per day can change so much.
Both for you and the other person.

Let's do good.
Take it one day at a time.

@phantom-xb6wv

Individualism has ravaged us, we are past the point of return. Atleast the entire western society, 99% of them are high, going through life on autopilot disregarding reality only caring about themselves.
“Mind your own business, who cares what you or i do”
“i can do whatever i want, my body my choice”
“Who are you to change me? im unique”

Examples, ironic how when everyone becomes “unique” no one is.
No one cares about eachother, or society anymore. Everyone for their own.
Some dwell in lust, and greed and self destruct and end up lost and dead inside. and they wonder why.
Foolish egomaniacs, individualists.

while most people were using autotuner to sound robotic at the time, daft punk became robots that sounded human....that's why they are great.

@jeremy3821999

Except they don't use autotune :p

@jeremy3821999

Their voice is modified through a vocoder (which is a different thing)
