Without tearing what's inside of it?
Good news: Checks
Bad news: Bills
Cutting through paper
I know scissors make it tough
I can show you other stuff
There are ways of cutting through
Good news: check
Bad news: Bills
...Letter opener
In the song "Letter Opener" by Daiquiri, the lyrics talk about the struggles that people face while opening letters. The first line, "Get a letter, can you open it?" sets the tone for the rest of the song. It raises the question of whether someone can open a letter without tearing what's inside. The following lines highlight the difference between good news and bad news, with good news being a check, and bad news being bills.
The lyrics then introduce the idea of cutting through paper and how scissors can make it tough. The singer offers to show the listener other ways of cutting through the paper. The chorus repeats the idea of good news being checks and bad news being bills, and it ends with the words "letter opener."
The song highlights the mundane task of opening letters and the different emotions that come along with the contents of the letter. The lyrics also offer a humorous take on the situation and make it relatable to anyone who has ever received a letter.
