Inaccurate Prophecy

Even after the game all said and done, there are major scars for multiple people that will never heal after that awful incident.

Sue will never see Toroko, King, and possibly even the one who she wanted to escape with, Quote, ever again. More than likely, she will stay a Mimiga for the remainder of her life because the machines don't work permanently and Misery, well, enjoys watching Sue wallow in her annoyance and pain too much to change her back. She witnessed so much and had been in so much pain on that island, yet she maintained such a brave face. It's a wonder that she didn't break down at any point during her life.

Curly, even with her friends' company, will likely never get over the deaths of her adopted children or likely will never see them again if they even are alive. Misery's taunts about Curly not being a mother likely adds insult to injury. Her constant joy is probably a facade masking her pain that she was forced to endure. She still harbors a hatred for mankind, so if the Sakumotos located her home, she'd be biting at best and blast happy at worst.

Quote still hasn't recovered his memories from before waking up near the Gunsmith. The only things he knows are combat, hatred, pain, the desire to help, and the kindness shown to him by a select few. Mentally, he's pretty much a child forced to adapt to a dangerous environment with nothing but his programmed instincts. He pretty much has seen anything larger than a soccer ball as a potential threat, so the possibility of him shooting lots of wildlife before actually getting that they're harmless to him will cause a LOT of incidents. He doesn't have any way of getting back to his other friends other than Balrog, but Balrog isn't the most reliable person on the planet. He might have lost where the island was because of his aimless flying after the ending. Quote can't see the rest of his friends again in the most likely scenario.

Congrats, you saved the world. The only thing you couldn't save was yourself. (I kinda rambled on for a while there. Just some food for thought.)

I left this comment on an extended version of this song, but seeing your post here, idk, maybe you'd take some interest in it since you also have dwelt on the characters and emotions of this game extensively, and sought out its music to continue dwelling on them after the fact. idk
Here, in case it does pique your interest:
"This is one of my favorite pieces of music from the whole game.
I actually tend to think of it as Misery's theme.
It takes a bit to see her as a tragic character, but after envisioning it, she's become one of my favorite characters.
Eternally enslaved to the demon crown, forced to do cruel & horrible things for each new master, everyone from her original life that she loved or cared about must be long, long dead.
She has no one, and nothing except time.
Imagine the decades that could have come and gone before a new master found the crown?
Imagine the pain of her sorrow, dragged on, and on, and on, but she can't rebel, she can't die, and she can't leave.
Imagine she ended up calling herself Misery, what with that being the only concept to characterize her existence.
She exists this way for so long she becomes apathetic to it, she doesn't care anymore, she's resigned herself to it.
She begins to look forward to each new master in hopes that they will finally be the one to succeed in whatever their destructive power crazed goal is, so they eventually destroy everything, including herself.
idk
All that is definitely reading into things quite a bit, but this music is perfect in its emotional tone. It gives you that release of tension that allows you to relax into introspection, wherever it may take you.
Try playing this on piano btw, it's beautiful."

When you arrived for the frist time here and literally stayed 1 hour just to listen to this tune, it's kinda an interesting way to say: "Welcome to the balcony, the last place of the game where you can understand everything about everyone"

This place is special to every Cave Story player, Because no one will forget how deep this game can be, if you just look into the story more.

It has been more than 2 years since I haven't played Cave Story, and Still to this day, I play it over and over again, because...

I like it, it's kinda my gaming childhood, and I always loved it, thanks to the developer of this game, to give us this amazing experience.

Thanks for reading

This truly is a peaceful song. UNTILL YOU HAVE TO FIGHT 3 BOSSES IN A ROW THEN BEAT GO TO THE SCARCED GROUNDS, GET RAPED BY SPIKES, KILLED BY HEAVY PRESS, THEN SHIT BRICKS AT BALLOS. But it really is a nice soundtrack. Good background for the video to.

@Julio Aramayo Usually for Doc I just spam at the bats and then try to go behind him since he shoots them forward, and for Misery it seems like she occasionally goes into a pattern of lightning, block, lightning, block. It's when she flashes white that you know she will use one of the two moves. I'd just move as soon as she flashes and watch to see what pops out.

I got spur on first playtrough. Still fuck misery's large block attack and doctor's bat attack

This is arguably one of the most depressing parts of the game
