Du möchtest viel und hast gedacht du kannst es haben,

Du warst bereit die Hoffnung zu begraben,

The lyrics of Daliah Lavi's song "C'est la vie" are a reflection on the unpredictability of life. The singer acknowledges that things rarely turn out as one expects them to, and that reality often falls short of the fantasies and dreams people have for themselves. The phrase "C'est la vie" is repeated throughout the song as a mantra, emphasizing the idea that this is just the way life is, and that one must accept it and move forward.
The lyrics also touch on themes of love and relationships. The singer encourages listeners to pursue their dreams and not compromise when it comes to matters of the heart. She acknowledges that people often have a specific image in mind of the type of person they want to be with, but that reality can be very different. In the end, the singer suggests that it's important to be open to unexpected experiences and to embrace the chaos of life.
Overall, "C'est la vie" is a poignant and realistic commentary on the human experience. It provides a reminder that life is full of surprises, both good and bad, but that everything will ultimately work out in its own way.
