Been a long time
A real long time
Real long time

Out from my window please hear me Ohio
Your daughter wants to come home
She longs to be with you
To hug you, to kiss you
To never leave her alone
She stands on the sidewalk just waving at taxis
Like horses in parades in passing
I ask where she′s headed
She tells me "Ohio, I haven't seen my mother in

Ages"
It′s been a long time
A real long time

Real long time
It's been a long time
A real long time
It's been a long time
A real long time

A real long time
Out from my window please hear me Ohio
Your daughter wants to come home
She longs to be with you
To hug you, to kiss you
To never leave her alone
I′ve gotten to know her to live with to love her
It′s hard to see her leave
She belongs to her mother & the state of Ohio
I wish she belonged to me
It's been a long time
A real long time
Real long time
It′s been a long time
A real long time
It's been a long time
A real long time

A real long time
Real long time

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Ohio" by Damien Jurado feat. filous shed light on a heartwarming story of a daughter who longs to come back home to Ohio, to reconnect with her mother whom she has not seen in ages. The opening lines of the song, "Been a long time, a real long time" set the tone for the story of the daughter, who stands on the sidewalk, waving at taxis to get a ride to Ohio.

The daughter longs to hug and kiss her mother and never be alone, and the singer of the song feels helpless as he watches her leave to belong to her mother and the state of Ohio. He wishes she belonged to him, but acknowledges that she belongs to her mother, the state, and ultimately, to Ohio. The song beautifully encapsulates the emotions of longing, belonging, and the longing for a sense of homecoming.

In conclusion, "Ohio" is a poignant song that pulls at the heartstrings, as it portrays the story of a daughter's longing to come home, and the sense of belonging that home brings. The beautiful melody, combined with the deeply reflective lyrics, makes "Ohio" a timeless classic.

Vibing?

Pretty good huh? They won’t let me get the vocals to fit perfect ... they keep changing the positions on words and I’m getting different reverbs for different parts of the vocals cause that’s how they space them out when I’m not looking .... they add more reverb to words so then they move them further way from each other ....

I’m from Ohio and I live in Hong Kong. I haven’t been home in a long, long time. This song both increases and decreases my pain. Thank you for the upload.
