All You Need Is Love
Dana Fuchs & Martin Luther McCoy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung
Nothing you can say, but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy
There's nothing you can make that can't be made
No one you can save that can't be saved
Nothing you can do, but you can learn how to be you in time
It's easy
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
There's nothing you can know that can't be known
Nothing you can see that isn't shown
No where you can be, that isn't where you're meant to be
It's easy
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
(x4)
Love is all you need (repeated)
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
The song "All You Need is Love" by Dana Fuchs and Martin Luther McCoy is a tribute to the Beatles classic with the same name. The lyrics of the song convey a simple yet profound message that love is the fundamental need of every human being. The song suggests that there's nothing in this world that cannot be achieved with love - love is the ultimate means to connect with oneself, others, and the universe. The first two stanzas of the song emphasize the power of human potential and how we can learn to master our lives. The lines "Nothing you can do, but you can learn how to be you in time" suggest that we all have the potential to be the best version of ourselves, and we just need to learn how to tap into that potential.
The chorus of the song reinforces the idea that love is the ultimate need of human beings. The repetition of "All you need is love" and "Love is all you need" emphasizes the simplicity and universality of the message. The two stanzas that follow the chorus suggest that everything we need to know and experience is already within us, and we need to learn how to access it. The line "No where you can be, that isn't where you're meant to be" suggests that our life purpose is already predetermined, and we need to trust the universe and ourselves to guide us towards it.
Overall, the song "All You Need is Love" is an ode to love and the power it holds to connect us to ourselves and each other. It's a reminder that the most important thing we can do in life is to love ourselves and others, and to trust that everything else will fall into place.

Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone's
Hard earned pay
You and me Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
Two of us sending postcards
Writing letters
On my wall
You and me burning matches
Lifting latches
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
You and I have memories
Longer than
the road that stretches out ahead
Two of us wearing raincoats
Standing so low
In the sun
You and me chasing paper
Getting nowhere
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
You and I have memories
Longer than the road that
stretches out ahead
Two of us wearing raincoats
Standing so low
In the sun
You and me chasing paper
Getting nowhere
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
You and I have memories
Longer than the road that
stretches out ahead
Two of us wearing raincoats
Standing so low
In the sun
You and me chasing paper
Getting nowhere
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
(We're going home
Better believe it)

It’s a great property to turn into a musical, however, The Beatles songs are very expensive to get the rights to, even as “cover” songs in the musical.
