I could cry at how big this record is. Heard it first on Rave 92 cassette compilation, sounded so badass compared to every other tune on there, wanted more, found Jungle, life changed forever. Oh, and I was only 11 years old. If I could do it all again....I wouldn't do a damn thing different.

Must of been 12 or 13 when i first heard this on a south London pirate radio station. These tunes changed my life, after hearing these tunes you can never go back to bog standard pop music. I dont listen to this stuff much anymore apart from when i go on one of these nostalgia binges, but this music is what made me understand what dance music is about. I listen to mostly Northern soul, rare Groove Funk, and Hosue these days but these old hardcore tunes are what i cut my teeth on!

when i think of all the amazing tunes of the early 90s that have been lost forever: the dub plates and acetates, the out-of-prints gathering mold in someones cellar... ....it brings a tear to my eye. But as some random MC once said: "hardcore will never die".

Oh man, what a tune. I first heard this on a Bukem mixtape (Yaman series) BITD, then bought it as soon as it came out. Wicked E.P. with 4 other quality mixes (on the XL release). This got played everywhere. The whole track is so well produced and well structured. That intro', the breaks, pads, vocals and THAT breakdown - quality. IMO well ahead of it's time and a million times deeper than a lot of its contemporary hardcore tunes - no cheese at all. This track has stood the test of time and is still droppable. Funnily enough I think it was better and more forward looking than some of the tracks Pascal worked on soon after! A wicked, wicked riddim. Raggamuffin bizznizz an' ting indeed!

Edit: Sorry, it's not just a Pascal track.....it was DJ Pulse (Ashley Brown) & Stretch (Adrian Shortman) too. Anyone who's into DnB will know Pascal and DJ Pulse (I got quite a few of their tracks as should any self respecting Jungle / DnB DJ!) Stretch continued with early DnB then went on to co-form / produce All Saints and the Sugababes (and is also a respected music tech' tutor!)

Edit 2: Nearly half the riddim is missing from this upload! Chapter 1 (this mix, the original) is 6:43 long.

Bukem Yaman mix tapes!! Wow blast from past. I think it was number 2 by Bukem (1991) was really dark tunes and not the standard stuff.

Jezus mate, it's so cool you've actually been to the party I've bought a live-recording from! Every time I listened to this tape and this song I imagened how it must have been there. There weren't any raves like this in Holland back then. At least not where they played this kind of music. There's actually a part of the tape on YouTube (side A)!

There was before in the 80s. And there was always the concern of getting busted. Happened to about 4 or 5 people I knew. festivals these days are pretty good and there's millions of excellent tunes out there. but hard times now for people and tastes change.

I remember going to the orange club in holloway rd with the two guys who made this tune on new years eve..right on the cusp of the night the DJ dropped this with the MC shouting " faviroute tune of the year".we went fecking mental.was a special night.

I cant believe the tunez that were made back then, I mean imagine what they would have done with todays technology. Thing is it cant ever be created again, it wasnt just talent that these people had it was such a love for the scene. Its gone forever and was so short lived, but for those of us that were there we can spend the rest of our lives rushing of the memories. You could hug a stranger back then and he/she would hug you back. Try doing that now!

I will never forget old skool we was driving back from the sanctuary MK after a helter skelter when a lorry hit us my 3 best mates were killed I was the only survivor just lorry driver go 3 years! This is my fav tune!
