The Dance Hall Crashers recorded a few songs during their first year (these are featured on The Old Record), and in 1990, they made their most notable lineup change, adding second vocalist Karina Denike. Soon after, the band members parted ways, but they played a reunion show in 1992 due to pressure from fans. The show met with great fanfare, and so the band decided to reunite on a more permanent basis, with Rogers and Denike on vocals, Hammon on lead guitar, his brother Gavin on drums, Scott Goodell on second guitar, and Mikey Weiss on bass. The Dance Hall Crashers song "Enough" was featured on the soundtrack for Angus (1995 film). The song "Don't Wanna Behave" was featured in the 1996 film "Biodome" as well.
As of August 2005, the band members lead separate lives but still play a few shows per year. In November 2004 they played and recorded a show at the Hollywood House of Blues; the concert was released by Kung Fu Records in September 2005 as part of the popular The Show Must Go Off DVD series.
Just Like That

Do you want company or to be left alone?
'Cause when your halo dissolves (halo dissolves)
You blow volcanic and your sweet little voice explodes
Flashes of rage, is this just a stage?
'Cause you can change from angel to devil
Or is it something I'll have to get used to?
'Cause did you know there's a space (space in between)
The highs above and the depths to which you love
It's only ground, dirty and brown
But I'll keep you down, so you don't flip just like that
Oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, oooh
You know you look so divine
Almost forgotten the things you put me through
When you start to unwind (start to unwind)
Become Lucifer with your bad mood
Nothing I can do, comes out of the blue
It's time that you know that I can change too like that
Oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, oooh
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, just like that
Oooh, oooh, oooh
The lyrics of Dance Hall Crashers’ song “Just Like That” describe someone who is struggling with their emotional stability. The first verse inquires if the person wants company, or if they want to be left alone. The person being addressed can change from sweet to explosive in their tone and behavior, and the song asks whether this is just a phase, or something that others must get used to. The lyrics continue to describe how this person’s behavior can shift from one end of the spectrum to the other, and how they can go from looking divine to acting like a devil with a bad mood.
The song seems to be addressing someone the singer cares about deeply, as they promise to try and “keep” the person from flipping, and also state that they too can change “like that”. It is possible that the singer is addressing someone with a mental health condition, such as bipolar disorder, and trying to navigate the ups and downs of their relationship. The chorus repeats the phrase “just like that”, possibly implying how quickly and unpredictably these emotional flips can occur.
