He was born on December 3, 1979 in New Zealand, moving to the United Kingdom when he was a child. He's an older brother of pop singer, Natasha Bedingfield and jazz singer Nikola Rachelle. After a song called "Gotta Get Thru This" (which he recorded in his bedroom) gathered momentum on white label, it went on to become a #1 hit in the UK Top 40 in December 2001. He has since had 2 more #1 singles ("If You're Not The One" and "Never Gonna Leave Your Side") as well as 2 other top 10 singles and a top 30 single. His album also titled Gotta Get Thru This, also reached #2 in the UK albums chart. Bedingfield is an outspoken Christian, whose parents are missionaries. He openly shares his faith during concerts and occasionally in his songs, although not all of them.
Wrap My Words Around You

Is it fair play to try to win her heart
Is it right to bring her sonnets in the morning-time
To express the first few longings when they start
To express the first few longings when they start
Is it right to let her feeling rise to catch you
Is it okay when her heart begins to fall
Would you blame me if I wrap my words around you girl
Would I wrong you to say anything at all
But if I wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
If i wrap my words around you
Would you stay, would you stay, would you
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
If i wrap my words around you
Would you stay, would it play with your heart
Am I a hunter if i send poems to please you
Am I a cad if I mean everything I say
Should I even let you know this song's about you girl
Just because I want to see you smile today
And my words may bind you to me much too tightly
And you may choke upon them if we fall apart
It's not fair to write a song to a woman, no
Because a woman takes a song into her heart
Because a woman takes a song into her heart
So let me wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Till you stay, till you stay, let me
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Darling, wrap my words around you
Til you stay, would it play with your heart
The lyrics of "Wrap My Words Around You" by Daniel Bedingfield speak of the vulnerability and uncertainty that comes with expressing one's feelings through music. In the opening lines, Bedingfield questions if it is right to write a song to win the heart of a woman, and whether it's okay to express his longings for her through poetry. He's aware that his words might make her fall for him hard, and he wonders if it's fair for him to do so. The song is about the fear of rejection and the desire to connect deeply with someone, while also acknowledging that expressing such feelings could come with risk.
The chorus is where the title of the song is repeated, and where Bedingfield pleads to wrap his words around the woman he's singing to. He's asking her to let him in, to give him a chance to show her how he feels through his music. There's a sense of urgency in his voice, as if he's afraid that if he doesn't speak up, he might miss out on something special.
In the end, Bedingfield is aware of the power of music to move people. He acknowledges that his words could bind the woman too tightly to him and that she might choke on them if they fall apart. But he wants to take that risk anyway because he believes that music can connect people in a way that nothing else can. The final plea to wrap his words around her until she stays is one of vulnerability, an openness and honesty that comes through in all of Bedingfield's music.
