Strangers
Daniel Blume Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don't wanna wake up in this bed we used to share
See the shirt you'll never wear anymore
I kept your makeup but I know that you won't care
That our future isn't there anymore

Not friends not enemies
Just strangers with some memories
Late nights at home with me
Now I light up on the balcony
I drank too much again

Guess I couldn't change your mind
Make shit right, so you left my life
You took me on a broken ride
Girl, it went so wrong but we felt so right
I guess I'm going out tonight
But I'm not me without you
I'm wasted on a good time
Getting wasted on the good times

Don't wanna know if there's somebody with you there
In the sheets we'll never share anymore
I kept your number but I know that you won't care
'Cause our future isn't there anymore

Not friends not enemies
Just strangers with some memories
Late nights at home with me
Now I light up on the balcony
I drank too much again

Guess I couldn't change your mind
Make shit right, so you left my life
You took me on a broken ride
Girl, it went so wrong but we felt so right
I guess I'm going out tonight
But I'm not me without you
I'm wasted on a good time
Getting wasted on the good times

I'm wasted on a good time
Getting wasted on the good times
I'm wasted on a good time
Getting wasted on the good times

I'm not me without you
I'm not here without you
I'm not me without you
I'm not here without you

Guess I couldn't change your mind
Make shit right, so you left my life
You took me on a broken ride
Girl it went so wrong but we felt so right
I guess I'm going out tonight
But I'm not me without you
I'm wasted on a good time

Getting wasted on the good times
Getting wasted on the good times

Overall Meaning

The song "Strangers" by Daniel Blume is a powerful breakup anthem that explores the aftermath of a failed relationship. The lyrics describe the singer's reluctance to let go of the past, despite the fact that the relationship is over. The first verse sets the scene for the song, as the singer wakes up in a bed that he used to share with his former partner. He sees a shirt of hers that she'll never wear again and realizes that their future together is dead.

The chorus reinforces this idea of being strangers, rather than friends or enemies. The singer laments the fact that he and his ex had some great memories, but they can no longer enjoy late nights at home together. Instead, he "lights up on the balcony" and drinks too much. The second verse continues in the same vein, as the singer admits that he can't imagine his ex being with someone else in the sheets that they used to share. He's holding onto her number, but knows that there's no hope for their future.

The song is a poignant reminder that breakups can be difficult, even when both parties know that it's for the best. The singer is still grappling with the fact that his former lover is no longer a part of his life. He feels lost and incomplete without her, but he knows that he can't go back.

i keep thinking i wrote a line to a possible song then i’ll search it and it turns out to be a song by daniel blume, i’ve never heard of this guy or his music but somehow it seems familiar 😀

like i thought i wrote “not friends not enemies just strangers with some memories trying to hold on to the past” but most of that was part of his song not the same beat or message but the same lyrics, also i tried writing a love song and i started out with “when i close my eyes at night all i see is you” but part of that line is in one of his songs like i’ve never heard of this dude before but every thing i try to come up with turns out to be particularly in one of his songs even tho they are kinda different lines with a different tune, melody, rhythm, message and feeling, i still feel like i can’t finish the songs cuz the one line has been kinda used before. but also it werids me out, how come i’ve never heard of this dude or remembered listening to his music but somehow it’s familiar and also the 2 songs i’ve tried writing both of the original ideas/lines for the song happened to be strangely similar to his 😂 idk what it is about it it just gives me chill and makes me a little scared about it

edit- give me y’all’s opinion
