Miss You
Daniel Wesley Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My you've grown
Got some backseat
You call home
Said I'm sorry
Said I miss you
Hard to talk to
You alone
So your cold
Take the long way
Back to home
Said I'm sorry
Said I miss you
Hard to talk to
You alone
You alone...
The lyrics to "Miss You" by Daniel Wesley express the regret and longing felt after a romantic relationship has ended. The singer has called their past partner and acknowledges that they have "grown" since they last spoke. The mention of the "backseat" could allude to the past intimacy between the two or it could be taken more literally as a reference to a car that the partner now owns. The singer then apologizes and admits to missing their ex-partner but acknowledges that it is difficult to talk to them while they are alone.
The mention of the partner being "lonely" and "cold" implies that they are also struggling since the breakup. The singer encourages them to take the "long way back to home," which could suggest taking time to process their emotions before moving forward. Despite admitting to missing each other, the conversation ends with the reminder that they are both alone. This line emphasizes the finality of the breakup and the reality that they cannot go back to the way things were.

Whenever I get down, in the middle of the night I light one up. Play this song and remember being a teenager drinking and smokin at white rock beach. Whole world ahead of myself.
I'll always remember lighting my first joint and listening to this song.

This song got me far. I used to close my eyes and listen and imagine myself somewhere different, somewhere warm and beautiful and sunny with the man of my dreams and everything I ever wanted. 2 years later and I moved from Washington to Vegas because of the man of my dreams. I miss visiting Vancouver, though. Well, time to blaze to this!
