Young in America
Danielle Bradbery Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Let's crank up the truck, kick up some dust
Leave it all behind, just me and you, baby
Don't look back, stomp on the gas
Tear off the rearview, let's go crazy

Maybe Tennessee
LA, NYC
Mississippi

Come on, come on

Whoa-oh, oh, oh, ready set go
Gotta get out of this small town
Whoa-oh, oh, oh, the open road
Air to breathe, the sun is shining down
Oh whoa, it's you and me
In the land of the free
So baby, let's run while we're young in America

We could do the Vegas thing, you could buy me a ring
Make a lot of love and a little bit of money
Go dancing in rain with the guitars playing
Down there in Memphis, how about it, honey?

Fine wine, sand, bare feet
Kiss me on the beach
So much to see

Come on, come on

Whoa-oh, oh, oh, ready set go
Gotta get out of this small town
Whoa-oh, oh, oh, the open road
Air to breathe, the sun is shining down
Oh, whoa, it's you and me
In the land of the free
So baby, let's run while we're young in America

I'll go anywhere, it's true
As long as I'm with you

Whoa-oh, oh, oh, ready set go
Gotta get out of this small town
Whoa-oh, oh, oh, the open road
Air to breathe, the sun is shining down
Oh, whoa, it's you and me,
In the land of the free
So baby, let's run while we're young in
Young in America

Whoa oh
In America

Whoa oh, whoa oh
Young in America

As a fan of hers since the Voice, I don’t know why this young lady hasn’t hit it big yet. She’s got a great voice.

@Maverick74 I agree and must say the studio that is working with her seems to think she has to take off all her clothes to get someone to listen to her....geez I hate to see them make her change from the natural beauty she is inside and out. I see them taking her away and not letting her shine like she can. My hope is that she finds a better company that can get her back to the basics we all loved. Don't get me wrong she is great now I just think they have so many other things to get an audience with. Oh, I was watching her when she won the Voice. Congrats Danielle and don't let them change you girl!!!!

@sonofizzy totally agree friend zone got so much negativity in my opinion was the same kick butt song like before he cheats.. it was all country

sonofizzy

@Maverick74 To me, "Young in America" and "Friend Zone" should have done it already. :)

@Maverick74 I believe that she is 23 or 24, but my response is from your mouth to God's ear! She is magnificent!

I think management is to blame with her slow progress but make no mistake she will be a huge star,, when she arrived in country music you had tons of massive girl stars that were peaking during that time now that Carrie, Miranda and Taylor is on the downward of their career I think Danielle is one hit away from really launching herself,, she’s like what 22? Oh yeah she’s about to pop off
