Danielle started out with a hunger to seek out a style that would express her conundrums, frustrations, her passions and realizations. She began to write music that reflected her thoughts and released her personality into music as she sought out her own creative identity.
Soon after the pursuit began she went on the road to support Nelly Furtado with background vocals. This set her on a path of growth in style and knowledge of the art of creating and performing.

I'll be there
Danielle McKee Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Can't you see that
But you think too much
What you've been through
Is it still bad?
Can time catch up with you?
Can time catch up with you?
You know that I'll be there
No matter how far we stray
You know that I'll be there
No matter how far we stray
No matter how far we stray
Well I guess I watch from a distance
Need to step outside
That's where I learn a lot
About our mistakes, about the things that ain't right
And time catches up with me
And time knows it's time for me
[Chorus]
You've gone away now
I have no reason to forget
I can't, not yet, no
In Danielle McKee's song "I'll Be There," the singer speaks directly to someone she cares about, telling them that they don't need to give her much, but they need to stop thinking so much and worrying about the past. She questions whether time can catch up with this person, suggesting that their past may be catching up to them, and wondering if they can move on from it. The chorus repeats the sentiment that no matter how far they may stray from each other, the singer will always be there for the other person.
Later in the song, the singer talks about how she learns from watching things from a distance, realizing the mistakes that have been made in the past and the things that still need to be fixed. She acknowledges that time catches up with her too, but seems to suggest that it's okay because she's learned a lot and knows what needs to be done.
Overall, the lyrics of "I'll Be There" speak to the importance of being present for someone else, even when things get difficult or frustrating. The singer emphasizes that she will always be there for the other person, no matter what problems they may face or how far apart they may end up.
