Danity Kane Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
you were everything I wish for but yet you made time to speak your mind if I wasn't pleasing you,
took my love in vain I was bleeding only one night
I held your pillow close wishing I was squeezing you,
it's crazy we can only see the bad times when were together
and remember the good when were apart
if we throw our love away does that bring us back to the start time heals all wounds
but I can't move my mouth is our flame not still their if seeing you it lights a spark.
These lyrics describe a relationship that is full of misunderstandings and miscommunications. Despite speaking a thousand words to each other, the two partners still can't seem to understand each other's thoughts and feelings. They are both "fly like stars," meaning they are successful and seemingly perfect on the surface, but they can't connect on a deeper level.
The singer describes how their partner was everything they wished for, but at the same time, they weren't always happy with the singer. The partner would speak their mind and criticize the singer, causing them to feel hurt and unloved. Despite this, the singer still held onto their love for the partner, even as they bled from the wounds of the relationship. The two partners seem to have trouble remembering the good times when they are together, only focusing on the negative aspects of their relationship. The singer wonders if ending their love will bring them back to the beginning, and if they will be able to reignite the spark of their flame.
