Performing as Danny Blu since 2011, he built his early following with shocking performances in New York clubs and queer-themed parties along with historic venues like The Bitter End. By 2015, he formed the glam pop-rock band Echo Black and rigorously toured the US and Canada, opening for The Birthday Massacre, Combichrist, Genitorturers, MXMS and Skold. As Echo Black, Danny has worked with producers Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Kesha, Sum 41) and Andros Rodriguez (Bleachers, Cobra Starship, Florence + The Machine) and garnered attention from publications such as Billboard, Alt Press and the Huffington Post. After successfully crowdfunding the band’s first album, Dawn, with producers Walter Kazmier (Mechanical Vampires, ex.Kissing Candice) and Axel Otero (Lay Your Ghost, William Control), the album was independently released on Friday, October 13th 2017.
In summer 2019, Danny Blu re-emerged with a new dark pop sound. Collaborating again with Dawn producer, Walter Kazmier, he released his first solo single in over 4 years titled, Bubble. Blu later premiered the music video with Billboard Pride. The follow-up single, Burn premiered with New Now Next/Logo TV and was praised for its minimal production as "--a haunting, ’90s-indebted dark-pop ballad".
As "a queer man making intensely dark pop rock music", Danny is continually pushing boundaries with visceral hybrids in sound and visuals while waging a war on stigmas.

I'll show you how to hold fire in the palm of your hand
We'll redefine what you think it means to die
Let's make trouble, pop that bubble, and bring you to the light
Kill the queen and take her throne
We can rearrange your skin and bones
Let's get weird, you can wear my crown
You keep on pickin' that, pickin' that, pickin' that scab
I'm gonna take, take, take you down
You keep on pickin' that, pickin' that, pickin' that scab
I'm gonna take, take, take you down
I wanna pop that bubble
Good boys don't go to heaven
Good girls don't go to heaven
Good boys don't go to heaven
Good girls don't go to heaven
Can you surrender and let me take control?
Fill you up with so much midnight that I'll black out your soul
We speak in tongues to give weight to the lies
Let's make trouble, pop that bubble, and bring you to the light
Kill the queen and take her throne
We can rearrange your skin and bones
Let's get weird, you can wear my crown
Turn this fucked up world even more upside down
You keep on pickin' that, pickin' that, pickin' that scab
I wanna pop that bubble
Good boys don't go to heaven
Good girls don't go to heaven
Good boys don't go to heaven
Good girls don't go to heaven
You seek perfection
With no direction
Come join the party
And choose your weapon
You seek perfection, darlin'
But lack direction
So, join the party
And choose your weapon
Good boys don't go to heaven
Good girls don't go to heaven
Good boys don't go to heaven
Good girls don't go to heaven
Good boys don't go to heaven
I wanna pop that bubble
Good girls don't go to heaven
I wanna pop that bubble
Good boys don't go to heaven
I wanna pop that bubble
Good girls don't go to heaven
I wanna pop that bubble
The song "Bubble" by Danny Blu is a bold and provocative statement about rebellion and the desire to break free from societal norms and expectations. The lyrics challenge the listener to question their own beliefs and seek their own truth. The opening line, "Why do you worship what you don't understand?" suggests that blindly following established beliefs and values without questioning them is dangerous and limiting. The following lines, "I'll show you how to hold fire in the palm of your hand / We'll redefine what you think it means to die" urge the listener to take risks and think outside the box.
The chorus, "Let's make trouble, pop that bubble, and bring you to the light" is a call to action to break free from the constraints of society and seek enlightenment. The verse "Kill the queen and take her throne / We can rearrange your skin and bones / Let's get weird, you can wear my crown / Turn this fucked up world even more upside down" is a bold and rebellious statement about taking control and overthrowing the established order.
The repeated phrase "Good boys/girls don't go to heaven" suggests that society's definition of goodness and morality is limiting and misguided. The final line "I wanna pop that bubble" is a powerful statement of intent to break free and seek one's own truth.
