Bought this 45 and listened to it over and over again while dancing around in my bedroom in Los Feliz. I had the biggest crush on Danny Hutton! I even sent away for a picture of him! When I got the picture, I thought it was so cool because he was barefoot! Thanks, Danny, for my first 'musical crush." 💖😊

@lrh1966

Great 45 record that I never heard before. Oldies radio needs to expand their oldies variety and include songs like this and many, many others. Thanks.

@johnnylucious

Heard this just a few times on the radio around 1965 and it always stayed with me. Never knew who the singer was. Finally heard it again. Hutton is a talented guy. Thanks

@petercooper2665

I remember Hutton being interviewed on a TV dance show (it might have been 'Where the Action is') in '65 explaining the use of medieval instruments on this track. Sadly, the song disappeared soon after...

@alonzogarbanzo

+Peter Cooper I remember this was a small hit in LA, fueled mostly by the success of his earlier "Roses and Rainbows". That big WHANG that happens twice was a drumstick whacking the strings of an autoharp (or possibly a psaltery, but I don't think so).

@petercooper2665

I think you're right, Alonzo, that it's an autoharp. Three years later, Hutton reemerges as one of the frontmen in Three Dog Night - Funny how careers can be, eh?

@davidhugaert8006

A great song that should've been a BIG hit!!! Danny Hutton Pre-Dog Night style!!!

Bravo, Daniel Anthony Hutton!!!

@TheDejael

Danny Hutton's second hit record, following his first big splash in summer 1965 with
"Roses And Rainbows" on HBR Records 45-rpm singles. Love them both!

Same

This did get some airplay in Los Angeles. I found the 45 in a thrift store in Grants Pass, OR. It is one of those songs that I like a lot, but can't really tell you why!
