He also was featured on Marilyn Manson's breakthrough album Antichrist Superstar, as was most of Nine Inch Nails due to Trent Reznor's 'musical mentor' relationship with Manson. Lohner can be heard playing the acoustic guitar on the track "The Reflecting God".
Additionally, he does remixes for various artists under the pseudonym Renholdër ("re:d.lohner" backwards) such as the song of the same title featured on A Perfect Circle's debut album Mer de Noms. He is currently a studio member of A Perfect Circle, helping with engineering and filling in for instruments and vocals as necessary. He has appeared in all of their albums to date in one form or another, although in 2006 the band was on hiatus as Maynard James Keenan worked on the new Tool album and toured.
During 2003, Lohner worked with Richard Patrick of Filter, Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit, and Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle in a project called The Damning Well. A total of 14 songs were recorded (half of which featured Amy Lee of Evanescence on vocals instead of Richard Patrick), but only one of these has been released ('Awakening') which was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Underworld. So far, there have been no plans to release the rest of the songs.
In 2005 and 2006, Lohner was involved with Wes Borland in a project called Black Light Burns, where he took on the role of producer as well as playing guitar, bass, synth, programming, etc. Other members include Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv and Josh Freese. A release was planned for early 2006 through Geffen Records, with expectations of a subsequent world tour.
Falling Through The Sky
Danny Lohner Lyrics

It's over
And it kills me to watch you descend
To the end
Shutting me out again
Are you trying?
Closing me out again
Are you hiding?
You take me down
Further inside of me
I'm fading out
I can barely see
To see you giving in
I'm under
And to say it's the last time again
It's the end
Shutting me out again
Are you trying?
Closing me out again
Are you hiding?
You take me down
Further inside of me
I'm fading out
I can barely see
The lyrics of Danny Lohner's song Falling Through The Sky express the pain of watching someone you care about slip away from you. The first stanza shows the singer watching someone leave, it could be a break-up or simply drifting apart, but either way it is clear that the singer is struggling to come to terms with it. The use of the word "descend" adds an extra layer of melancholy to the stanza, as it implies a downwards motion, as if the person is falling deeper and deeper away from the singer.
The second stanza of the song is even more heart-wrenching, as the singer speaks of being "under" and "fading out." This could be seen as a metaphor for the singer's emotional state, as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of the other person. The use of repetition in the chorus of "shutting me out again" and "are you trying" shows that the singer is confused and frustrated about the other person's behaviour.
Overall, the song is a powerful expression of loss and the difficulties of needing someone who is no longer there. The repetition of the chorus, coupled with the haunting melody, make the song feel like a cry for help, a desperate attempt to hold onto something that is slipping away.
