He has worked with Trent Reznor on numerous occasions, both with Nine Inch Nails and on the defunct Tapeworm project. He has also played for Killing Joke and Methods of Mayhem, as well as being one of the founding members of the now-defunct industrial thrash outlet Skrew and the Texas thrash metal band Angkor Wat.

He also was featured on Marilyn Manson's breakthrough album Antichrist Superstar, as was most of Nine Inch Nails due to Trent Reznor's 'musical mentor' relationship with Manson. Lohner can be heard playing the acoustic guitar on the track "The Reflecting God".

Additionally, he does remixes for various artists under the pseudonym Renholdër ("re:d.lohner" backwards) such as the song of the same title featured on A Perfect Circle's debut album Mer de Noms. He is currently a studio member of A Perfect Circle, helping with engineering and filling in for instruments and vocals as necessary. He has appeared in all of their albums to date in one form or another, although in 2006 the band was on hiatus as Maynard James Keenan worked on the new Tool album and toured.

During 2003, Lohner worked with Richard Patrick of Filter, Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit, and Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle in a project called The Damning Well. A total of 14 songs were recorded (half of which featured Amy Lee of Evanescence on vocals instead of Richard Patrick), but only one of these has been released ('Awakening') which was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Underworld. So far, there have been no plans to release the rest of the songs.

In 2005 and 2006, Lohner was involved with Wes Borland in a project called Black Light Burns, where he took on the role of producer as well as playing guitar, bass, synth, programming, etc. Other members include Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv and Josh Freese. A release was planned for early 2006 through Geffen Records, with expectations of a subsequent world tour.

To the dude who claimed to be a Maynard fan awhile back, his mother didn't die of cancer early in life. She suffered an aneurysm at 29 and was left paralyzed on one side of her body and bed ridden for the remainder of her life. Many of the songs Maynard wrote about his mother discuss her continued faith in spite of her condition and his anger/confusion in regards to that. In Judith he rages at her for it. He didn't understand how she could still believe. He didn't understand how she could not be angry at her God when he was so angry. He didn't understand why people who murder and rape get to walk and live full lives and his mother, a good woman, was forced to live a life of pain. 10,000 days is the number of days she was bedridden( at least I think that's right) and Wings for Marie( her name was Judith Marie) is about her death and how if ever there was a person who lived their faith and deserved to go to heaven as an angel it was her. I believe that when Maynard says "Fuck your God!" in Judith he's saying it to his mother, raging against her faith because in his anger at her condition he couldn't understand.

to me, this song explains how i felt a few months after my mom passed on from cancer... i felt angry, not at her, but her belief in god. I feel that this song explains the anger i felt while grieving... there is beauty in sad songs, in a way music lets you know that you were never alone... something to ponder ^^

Why did her belief in God make you angry? Its not like the medicine she was on was working. What's it to you how she would like to pass on? She clearly felt better believing there was something after her death. Which allowed her to go peacefully instead of panicking.

I've noticed almost everyone on this video commenting about this song, all stating the same thing. "I didn't hate my mother because she died of cancer, I hated her belief in God." That is probably one of the most idiotic reasons to be mad at someone. That's nearly the same equivalence of someone saying "I didn't hate my mother because she died of cancer, I hated when she would watch Andy Griffith re-runs." Like what concern, or what business is it of yours to be deciding what she wants to do in her free time?

Although I'm not too religious myself. I'd like to know what happens if an atheist woman dies, and her son or daughter says the exact same thing just in reverse? What do you say to that person? Grow-up? Or maybe it's time to move-on and quit looking for someone or something to blame, and just accept the fact, that death is a part of life?

The first time I heard this song was while I was watching Eclairu's videos. Some of her introductions included it. Quite enjoyable, with an infamously complex theological question raised, hidden behind the lyrics. I don't know Maynard's mother, neither do I believe in God, but I can't help being saddened by the unfortunate event that occured to her, or the ironic outcome. Life's a bitch.

Has anyone ever stopped to realize the symbolism of the actual video to the meaning of the song/Maynard's life experiences? Like, when the robot wakes up and inspects his surroundings at the beginning to find out what it was dealing with (trapped inside of a box), and slowly increases it's force to break out, finding out that this obstacle is not easy to conquer? I think that could be connected to how when the singer was eleven and his mother (Judith) had an aneurysm (I think that's what it was). It was then when he "wakes up" and starts "finding out" how bullshit his life has been and that he needs to "break out" of what was holding him down. Unfortunately, because he was brought up in a religious household, he must've felt confined, like the robot was in the box. And you can tell that breaking away was no easy task because of his hatred for religion that is expressed in his music. Also, notice how there are even more boxes, which could symbolize the life experiences of other people just like him. I'd love to hear feedback based on this comment, so I can know what you other Maynard/A Perfect Circle fans think. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

Danny Lohner is king shit when remixing..especially all his APC/Puscifer stuff..this song is just more evocative of a soundtrack for Underworld than the original would have been..but when compared,i draw no comparison..they are both phenomenal in their own ways..spiral out,don't get attached too the regular,the now...it's all soon to change!

ever thought there is many interpretations to lyrics? Maynard has never been very direct with describing his lyrics if at all. Most of his songs are meant for anyones interpretation, therefore everyone's opinion on what this song is about is valid of course as long as it makes since. For example if I said this song was about "hot dogs having sex with corn to become corn dogs" that would be obviously irrelevant. but if you say its about God or Judith or both then sure those all seem relevant.

His mother if I recall was the type to try to shove religion down his throat. As he saw his mother suffer as she was dying, and saw she kept her faith, it pissed him off. Which is understandable. I believe in God, but I can also see Maynards stance on this stuff.

It is *exactly* about how, even if he believed in the Christian god, he can't believe that that god would treat Marie like that; he can't believe that Judith trusts in s god who has so clearly not been there for her. As he says, god "left [her] this way," god "left [her] broken down and paralyzed," that her belief in god has come to nothing and (wait for it) "Abandoned you"
