Savior
Danny Worsnop Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I slipped off,
I fell down,
I laid there with my back against the ground,
I reached out, all I found,
My own reflection floated up into the clouds.

You helped me out of my madness,
You pulled me out of my grave.

I'm alive
Breathing deeper than I've ever breathed before,
And I owe it all to you,
I'm coming home.

I found my heart, I thought it was dead and gone,
Safely in your hands and It'll stay there forever,
You keep me up, you keep me sane,
You taught me love, you saved me.

You helped me out of my madness,
You pulled me out of my grave.

I'm alive
Breathing deeper than I've ever breathed before,
And I owe it all to you,
I'm coming home.

The distance can't haunt us anymore,
I'm coming home.

I'm alive
Breathing deeper than I've ever breathed before,

And I owe it all to you,
I'm coming home.

Overall Meaning

In "Savior," Danny Worsnop sings about feeling lost and alone before finding salvation in someone else. The first verse talks about hitting rock bottom - slipping, falling, and laying on the ground. The only thing he finds is his own reflection, which floats away. This could be interpreted as feeling disconnected from himself and the world around him.

However, in the chorus, Worsnop expresses gratitude for the person who pulled him out of this dark place. He sings about feeling more alive than ever before, with a deeper breath and a newfound appreciation for life. He feels that he has found his heart again and that it is now safe in the hands of this person who has saved him.

Throughout the song, there is a sense of redemption and hope. Worsnop recognizes that while he may have been lost, he is now coming home. He no longer feels haunted by distance or isolation, thanks to the person who helped him out of his grave. In essence, "Savior" is a song about the power of human connection and the transformation that can occur when one person helps another in their time of need.

I’d love to see this re-recorded now. Danny’s vocals are on another level now.

@Iniquity As much of an AA/Worsnop as I am, I couldn't agree with this more

DearJohnL

I had asked him about it on one of his live streams. He said he'd never touch it again, that it's done, it's out there and prefect as it is.

TheAmazingSpiderGuy_99

@DearJohnL Fair enough.
