Turn your cheek
Lay your head down
Lay your head down
Lay your head down
Lay your head down
I can see when you're lying oh
When you're alone, you're so alone
When you're alone, you're so alone
We all have dreams we forget
We all have dreams we forget
When you're alone, you're so alone
When you're alone, you're so alone
Now you want to go where no one is lonely
And rose water drips from my mouth like honey oh oh oh
The lyrics of Dark Dark Dark's song In Your Dreams is filled with a lot of emotion and insight. The song's melancholic tune mixed with the hauntingly beautiful melody gives the listeners an insight into the depth of the lyrics. The first verse begins with "Kiss your face, Turn your cheek, Lay your head down, Lay your head down." The lines could be interpreted as the artist's urging someone to rest whilst reminiscing about a memory of that person when they were calm and settled.
The next alternative chorus goes, "Don't say nothing, no, I can see when you're lying oh, When you're alone, you're so alone." This line implies that even when this person is lying about a situation, the artist understands and empathizes with the person's sense of loneliness. The phrase "We all have dreams we forget" repeats twice in the song, emphasizing the power of the subconscious mind and how dreams are sometimes the only escape that one can find in their solitude.
Finally, the artist completes the chorus with "Now you want to go where no one is lonely, And rose water drips from my mouth like honey oh oh oh," which signifies a longing for a place where no one feels lonely, and even though that place does not exist, the artist still tries to offer comfort and support through their words.
In summary, Dark Dark Dark's song In Your Dreams sings about the lives of people, the power of dreams, the loneliness they feel, and the longing to find a place where loneliness does not exist.
