When You Were Around

I miss those days
When you were around
So many ways
And it felt so safe
And I was glad
But now something's changed
And I was waiting patiently
But you never came
I realize it now
Won't ever be the same, again
Won't ever be the same, again
And I was waiting patiently
But you never came
I realize it now
Won't ever be the same, again
Won't ever be the same, again
If you're doing fine
I don't know
You see, I gave up calling
Long time ago
Haven't heard from you
I guess that means
That I'm not good no more
That's what it seems
And I was waiting patiently
But you never came
I realize it now
Won't ever be the same, again
The lyrics of the song When You Were Around by Dash Berlin feat. Kate Walsh describe the aftermath of a relationship that has ended. The singer misses the times and the days spent together and feels safe and glad when the other person was around. However, something has changed and it makes the singer sad. The singer was waiting patiently, but the other person never came, and it is now understood that things will never be the same again. Even though the singer is unsure about how the other person is doing, they have given up calling a long time ago, and the lack of communication suggests that the other person has moved on.
The song's lyrics capture the feelings of nostalgia, sadness, and acceptance that come with the end of a relationship. The singer reminisces about the good times they had with the other person and wishes that things could go back to the way they were. However, they also acknowledge that things have changed, and they are resigned to the fact that they will never be the same again. The song's melody and hypnotic beats amplify the emotions evoked by the lyrics, making it a powerful and emotional piece of music.
