You’re Pretty In Pink
Molly Ringwald
I know what you think
That I’ll forget you
The girl of my dreams
That I’ll neglect you
It’s rude and obscene
So don’t leave me
You’re breaking my heart
And believe me
I’m falling apart
Molly Ringwald
Molly Ringwald
I know what you think
That I’ll forget you
The girl of my dreams
That I’ll neglect you,
Its rude and obscene
So don’t leave me
You’re breaking my heart
And believe me
I’m falling apart
Don’t Deceive Me
Relieve Me
Say it's OK
Say it's alright
In Pretty in Pink
In 16 candles
In Breakfast Club
You were there for me
And I’ll always be there for you
So don’t leave me
You’re breaking my heart
And believe me
I’m falling apart
Don’t Deceive Me
Relieve Me
Say it's OK
Say it's alright
The song "Molly" by Datarock appears to be a love letter to Molly Ringwald, an actress and icon of the 80s. The lyrics start off by referencing her iconic role in the movie "Pretty in Pink" and telling her that she's pretty. The singer then expresses concern that Molly might not think highly of him and that he might forget about her. He begs her not to leave him and assures her that he will always be there for her, just as she was there for him in her movies.
The song continues with the singer asking Molly to relieve him of his heartache and to tell him that everything is okay. He mentions her other movie roles such as "16 Candles" and "The Breakfast Club" to emphasize how important she was to him growing up. The chorus repeats the plea for her to stay and not leave him.
Overall, the song can be interpreted as a lighthearted tribute to Molly Ringwald and the impact she had on the singer's life. It portrays her as a glamorous and beloved figure, and the singer wants to make sure she knows how much she means to him.
