Some Day My Prince Will Come
Dave Brubeck Lyrics

Somewhere waiting for me
There is someone I'm longing to see
Someone I simply can't help but adore
Someone who'll thrill me forever
Some day my prince will come
Some day I'll find my love
And how thrilling that moment will be
When the prince of my dreams comes to me
He'll whisper, I love you,
And steal a kiss or two
Though he's far away,
I'll find my love some day
Some day when my dreams come true
Some day I'll find my love
Someone to call my own
And I'll know her the moment we meet
For my heart will start skipping a beat
Some day we'll say and do
Things we've been longing to
Though she's far away
I'll find my love some day
Some day when my dreams come true

I believe that Paul Desmond solo on this song is truly great, I listen to it over and over. I can hum along.

@Greg Ellis I totally agree!!!

Greg Ellis

Its got to be the coolest piece of jazz I've ever enjoyed. Paul Desmond is THE freakiest Alto Sax player ever. i get carried away to another place whenever I hear this tune.

Ethan Fanshel

I love that the bass player is named Norman Bates..

At first I thought this was incorrect, but after looking it up, Norman Bates indeed played w Brubeck from 1956-57. I was familiar w Bob Bates, who happens to be Norman's brother, playing w Brubeck on the "Jazz: Red Hot and Cool" album, recorded in 1954-55.

Steve Carras

Yes, me,too..I wonder if Hitchcock got the idea for the PSYCHO (1960) character name from that./

Sign of a great drummer. Dave goes of into 2/4 ( or is it 4/4) anyway Joe just keeps playing 3/4 all the way through. I used to sit and try and most of the time got dragged away.

i always loved this too. joe goes into 2 and dave stays in 3.

Paul Desmond was a genius.
