His next big move was when he was signed to Teddy Riley's R&B group BLACKstreet in 1994. He worked with the group on their first album and then left the group to pursue his own solo career. He was signed to DreamWorks Records and began working on an album.
In 1999, Hollister released his first albumm, Ghetto Hymns. The album was successful, going gold, and creating one hit single, "My Favorite Girl." "My Favorite Girl" reached #10 on the R&B charts.
Hollister's follow-up album, Chicago '85... The Movie was released in 2000. The album was an autobiographical work and went gold. "One Woman Man" the album's biggest single, reached #8 on the R&B charts.
For his third effort, Hollister moved to Motown Records. He hoped the new label would instill new energy into his music. The album, Things In the Game Done Changed was released in 2002 and faired poorly on the charts and radio.
As a result of the album's shortcomings, Hollister returned to DreamWorks where he released Real Talk in 2003. Following the album's release, Hollister moved to Gospo Centric.
Hollister is reportedly wrapping up his fifth album in the industry, The Book of David: Vol. 1 The Transition. The album will be coming out on September 26, 2006 from Gospo Centric.

Ay yo Dave
Uh, can we do it now?
(Let's do it now)
Yeah, noontime
(Noontime)
Jazze Pha
Teddy Bishop
(That's right)
Ugh, like this
Uh, uh
[Chorus: x2]
Round and round and round we go
Where we stop, nobody knows
Come inside, take off your clothes
I want to sex you from your head to toes
Baby girl, here we go
[Jazze]
[Dave]
It's 2 o'clock, the time is right
I'm in the mood, for love tonight
So tell me girl, what do you like?
'Cause I want to freak you if you don't mind
[Dave] (Jazze)
Actin' like the fool for you tonight
(Act a fool for you baby girl)
Girl, lemme freak your body
(Freak your body, babe)
'Cause I'll freak you right
Baby, come inside
[Chorus: x2]
[Jazze]
[Dave] (Jazze)
It's 3 o'clock (it's 3 o'clock)
Let's get it hot
I don't want to stop (dont stop)
'Til after 9
Pull up the sheets
Turn out the lights
And turn around, ohh baby
[Repeat: x2]
If you really want to do it right now
Let a nigga know, if it's alright
[Chorus: x2]
[Dave]
Here we go baby...
[Jazze]
Here we go now
I'mma give it to you like you want it
Uh, uh, uh
Make it hot
Jazze Pha, come on why'all
Round and round, up and down
Makin' all them freaky sounds
You the finest thang around
Let ya playboy put it down
Meet me in the smoking lounge
That's where they pass them thangs around
I got a suite at the Swiss Hotel
Room 222 - Loud as hell
It's good baby, don't be scared
I ain't gon' let you bump your head
There's a lotta things left unsaid
We can ride this squeeky bed
[Dave] (Jazze)
Shorty freak a little some'in
(Don't it make you want to stay with me)
Don't ya know that I can keep you comin'
Baby, play with me
[Chorus: x3]
If you really want to do it right now
Let a nigga know, if it's alright
The lyrics to Dave Hollister's song Round And Round talk about two people who are in the mood for love, and want to satisfy each other's physical needs. The song suggests a scenario where both parties want each other equally and are ready to explore each other's bodies. The chorus echoes the idea of being in a perpetual state of desire, with no apparent end in sight. The line "Round and round and round we go, where we stop nobody knows," suggests that they are entering into a cycle of sexual pleasure that has no defined end. The song's tone is sensual and suggestive, with the singers mentioning that they want to "sex you from your head to toes."
The lyrics are straightforward and have a clear message: two consenting adults engaged in mutual satisfaction. The song's message and tone might make some people uncomfortable, but others find it liberating and empowering, celebrating the idea that adults can explore their sexual desires without judgment. The lyrics suggest that they prioritize consent and that the singer is responsive to the partner's desires. The song presents sexual desire as human and natural.
