At the young age of 17, Davi began producing electronic dance music inspired by many world-class producers and DJjs like Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells and 16 Bit Lolitas. Shortly thereafter he was the resident at the top electronic dance club in Armenia where his career began to unfold.
With his move to Los Angeles in 2006, Davi dove right into the underground scene and locked himself in the studio for years to follow while playing at local Los Angeles clubs nights like Monday Night Social at Playhouse, Avalon, and Vanguard.
Davi’s countless hours in the studio opened many doors for him, first of which was remixing Robert Babiczs’ “Zero” anthem which was released on the new Treibstoff label at the time. Earning recognition from top DJs in the scene like John Digweed, Guy J, Nick Warren, and 16 Bit Lolitas; Davi began establishing a name for himself in the Los Angeles underground scene.
Shortly thereafter in 2010 Davi became a resident DJ for Insomniac Events in Los Angeles, where he established his residency at Exchange LA and began playing Insomniac Festivals including twice at Escape from Wonderland opening for Richie Hawtin’s Enter stage. Since Davi’s connection with Insomniac, he has been sharing the decks with some of the top producers and DJ’s of our time including John Digweed, Sasha, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Green Velvet, Art Department, James Zabiela and Hernan Cattaneo to name a few.
Davi’s name can be found on multiple labels today including Rebellion, Anjunadeep, Treibstoff, Hope Recordings, and Baroque. After having attended Burning Man for over six years, Davi collectively put all his Rebel heart inspiration in the studio to create his first Crosstown Rebels EP in 2013 called “Two Suns in the Sky.” This was a tremendous boost to Davi’s career, which led him to begin touring worldwide in 2014 having visited London, Amsterdam, Israel, New Caledonia, Canada and all over the United States including Miami, New York, Boston, and Las Vegas among others.

Você disse eu não sei
Agora é a minha vez
Ai ai ai ai
Que delícia é ver você
Devagar se arrepender
De me descartar assim
Sai do meu caminho
Já sabe o que perdeu
Sem essa de carinho
Agora que já não sou seu
Bem que eu te avisei
Tanto eu te falei
Se disser 'tá tudo bem
Eu vou dizer aquilo que você perdeu
Seu direito
Ai ai ai ai
Que delícia é ver você
Devagar se arrepender
De me descartar assim
Sai do meu caminho
The lyrics of Davi's song "Seu Direito" convey a sense of empowerment and satisfaction after a romantic relationship ends. The song starts by reminiscing about a past love and the singer's willingness to give their all in the relationship. However, their partner was unsure and hesitant, leading to the role reversal where it is now the singer's turn to take control.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Ai ai ai ai, que delícia é ver você, devagar se arrepender" which translates to "Oh oh oh oh, how delightful it is to see you slowly regretting." This emphasizes the satisfaction the singer feels as they witness their former partner's remorse for discarding them. It hints at a sense of vindication and a desire for their ex-lover to feel the loss they experienced.
The lyrics continue with a strong declaration of independence and self-assuredness. "Sai do meu caminho, já sabe o que perdeu" translates to "Get out of my way, you already know what you've lost." It highlights the singer's determination to move forward without their former partner, rejecting any attempts at reconciliation or affection.
The repetition of the phrase "Bem que eu te avisei, tanto eu te falei" which means "I warned you so many times" further emphasizes the singer's justified feelings of superiority and vindication. They assert that if the former partner pretends that everything is fine, the singer will make sure to remind them of what they have lost, repeatedly emphasizing "Seu direito" meaning "Your right."
In the final verse, the singer reaffirms their decision to distance themselves from someone like their former partner, clearly stating their resolution to move on. The lyrics express a sense of frustration with the ex-partner's attempts to reconcile, reminding them that they were warned beforehand.
In summary, "Seu Direito" is a song that portrays a confident and empowered protagonist who experiences satisfaction and vindication as they witness their former partner regretting their decision to end the relationship. The lyrics convey a strong message of independence and assertiveness, rejecting any attempts at reconciliation and highlighting the ex-partner's loss.
