In the 60's & 70's, David & the Giants were a very successful Rock 'n' Roll band, & played with many famous groups & artists such as; Styx, Black Oak Arkansas, Cheech & Chong, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Chuck Berry & Stevie Wonder to name a few. They had many regional hits including, "Ten Miles High" & "Superlove. Their drummer, Keith Thibodeaux, was the former Little Ricky on the "I Love Lucy" show. Keith would eventually leave D&G because of his decision to serve the Lord, but would later re-join the new "Christian" David & the Giants in 1979.
Born in Pineville, Mississippi, David Huff, the legendary singer/songwriter of David and the Giant's fame, is known nationwide as the premier Southern Rock pioneer of Christian music. With a collection of songs that echoed the passion of the times, David along with the presence of his brothers, created some of the classic hits of the era, such as "Here's My Heart" and "I Can't Live Without You." He and twin brothers Rayborn and Clayborn, were born into the Kingdom of God in 1977 and spent the next 20-plus years ministering in Churches and auditoriums across the United States and around the world.
Like so many before him, David struggled with how to serve God through music. Following the encouragement from a local pastor to be part of an outreach for the lost, David clearly remembers hearing the voice of God call him to share the message of the Gospel through his gift of music. David vividly recalls God saying, "...Keep on singing my song." And so he did. While David W. Huff continues his career as a solo artist, the Huff brothers do continue to perform on occasion as, David & the Giants.

I know a, know a s, know a s, know a song
I know a song
I know a, know a s, know a s, know a song
To sing,
On this dark night.
On this dark, dark, dark, dark, dark night
On this dark night.
It's the song
Of love.
It's the song
Of love.
It's the song
Of love.
I know a song
I know a, know a s, know a s, know a song
I know a song
I know a, know a s, know a s, know a song
To sing.
On this dark night
On this dark, dark, dark, dark, dark night
On this dark night
On this dark, dark, dark, dark, dark night
It's the song
Of love.
It's the song
Of love.
It's the song
Of love.
The lyrics to "Noah" by David & the Giants are quite simple and repetitive, with the main focus being on the song of love that is mentioned throughout. The repetition of "I know a song" sets the stage for a song that is possibly well-known or meaningful to the singer. The repetition of "On this dark night" creates a sense of darkness or despair, in need of a comforting song to bring light or hope.
The emphasis on "the song of love" suggests that this song is one of a specific genre or style, perhaps a gospel or Christian song. The use of love as a theme is common in religious songs, as it represents the love of God or faith in a higher power. The repetition of the song being "of love" also implies that the love being sung about is unconditional and all-encompassing.
Overall, the lyrics to "Noah" convey a message of comfort and hope, with the repetition of the song being a symbol of positivity and love in a time of darkness.

Noah, everybody's talkin bout you
Noah, todos hablan de ti
Noah, havent you better things to do
Noah, ¿no tienes mejores cosas que hacer?
Many years we've watched you here
Muchos años te hemos visto aquí
Still you say the flood is near
Todavía dices que la inundación está cerca
Dont look like rain today
No parece que llueva hoy
Its just another sunny day
Es solo otro día soleado
Noah, you been workin for a long time
Noah, has estado trabajando por mucho tiempo
Noah, I beleive you have lost your mind
Noah, creo que has perdido la cabeza
Come on down to feel fine
Ven a sentirte bien
We'll live it up and drink some wine
Lo viviremos y beberemos un poco de vino
It don't look like rain today
No parece que llueva hoy
It's just another sunny day
Es solo otro día soleado
Oh ya say in seven days
Oh, dices en siete días
Its gonna rain for 40 days and nights
Va a llover por 40 días y noches
Who are you to tell me
Quien eres para decirme
I don't believe I have to save myself
No creo que tenga que salvarme
Noah, you really done it this time
Noah, realmente lo hiciste esta vez
Noah, your creatures are very kind
Noah, tus criaturas son muy amables.
2 by 2 you load them up
Dos por dos los cargas
While I drink another cup
Mientras bebo otra taza
It don't look like rain today
No parece que llueva hoy
It's just another sunny day
Es solo otro día soleado
Oh ya say in seven days
Oh, dices en siete días
It's gonna rain for 40 days and nights
Va a llover por 40 días y noches
Noah everybody's talkin bout you
Noah, todo el mundo habla de ti
Noah, haven't you better things to do
Noah, ¿no tienes mejores cosas que hacer?
Don't look like rain today
No parece que llueva hoy
It's just another
Es solo otro
Somewhere over the rainbow
En algún lugar sobre el arco iris
Where birds fly
Donde los pájaros vuelan
Birds fly over the rainbow
Los pájaros vuelan sobre el arco iris
But why oh why can't you...
Pero por qué, oh, por qué no puedes ...

My ultimate experience would be to be standing between two awesomely loud speakers and hear thunder, lightning and rain pounding out of them. Even when there are storms, I go outside so I can see the lightning and hear the thunder better. It is so primal...call me crazy!

Wonderful! Haven't heard this song since I was a DJ at KJIA radio in Sioux Falls, SD. It was fun to play Wild Blue Yonder (Crystal Lewis lead singer) right afterward. It was a great combo.

I was very young when they proformed this song at our church. Deeper Life Church in Laurel, MS. The had smoke machines and it was very intense. I've been to Clayburns church in Laurel a few times recently. He is a such a compassionate person. His church has helped my mom a couple of times. She has terminal cancer and is lucky to know such wonderful people.
