Princesa mía
David Bustamante Lyrics

Nunca fue mentira ni verdad
Que fue tan solo un sueño
Que ahora tu decides despertar
Y todo queda en nada
Y nada és mucho mas de lo
Que tu me puedes dar
Chorus:
Princesa mia
Me dejaste el alma vacia
Te robaste la fe y la esperanza
Sin llevarte esta soledad
Princesa mia
Yo no puedo fingir tu partida
Y no se olvidar como lo haces tu
Princesa mia
No me puede sangrar mas la herida
Tu recuerdo me sigue quemando a fuego lento
Cada dia más
Princesa mia
Hoy mi amante mañana mi amiga
Pero nunca serás lo que fuiste tu
Princesa mia
Dices que lo sientes
Que no siempre la historia acaba mal
Son cosas del destino
Que tienen su principio y su final
Y todo queda en nada
Y nada es mucho mas de lo
Que tu me puedes dar
Princesa mia
Me dejaste el alma vacia
Me robaste la fe y la esperanza
Sin llevarte esta soledad
Princesa mia
Yo no puedo fingir tu partida
Y no se olvidar como lo haces tu
Princesa mia
No fuiste mia
(Chorus)
The lyrics of David Bustamante's song, "Princesa mía," tell a story of a relationship that has come to an end. The singer tries to come to terms with the fact that the love they shared was not enough to keep the relationship afloat. The other person in the relationship speaks of their time together as a dream, something that wasn't quite real but also not entirely false. They say that it's time for them to wake up from this dream and move on. The singer is left feeling empty and heartbroken, as their love for the other person was more substantial and genuine.
Throughout the song, the singer addresses the other person as "Princesa mía," which translates to "my princess." This endearment suggests that the singer had placed the other person on a pedestal, treating them with the utmost respect and love. The chorus repeats a few times, with the singer expressing the hurt and pain they feel from the other person leaving their life. They are left with nothing but memories of the love they shared, which only serves to remind them of what they've lost. The final lines of the song seem to express the reality that the singer and the other person will never be as they once were - lovers. Instead, they are relegated to the roles of friends, but the pain remains.
