When the sun was in the sky
And love was burning in your eyes
Nothing in the world could bother me
'Cause I was living in a world of ecstasy
But now you're gone I'm just a daydreamer
I'm walking in the rain
Life is much too beautiful to live it all alone
Oh how much I need someone to call my very own
Now the summer's over
And I find myself alone
With only memories of you
I was so in love I couldn't see
'Cause I was living in a world of make believe
But now you're gone I'm just a daydreamer
I'm walking in the rain
Chasing after rainbows I may never find again
Life is much too beautiful to live it all alone
Oh how much I need someone to call my very own
I'm just a daydreamer
I'm walking in the rain
Chasing after rainbows I may never find again
Life is much too beautiful to live it all alone
Oh how much I need someone to call my very own
I'm just a
daydreamer, living in the memories of a past love. The singer recalls the beautiful month of April when everything seemed perfect. The sun was shining and love was burning bright in his partner's eyes. In that moment, nothing else in the world could bother him because he was living in a world of ecstasy. But now, the partner is gone and the world around him has turned gray. He finds himself chasing after rainbows, hoping to recapture the love and happiness that once existed.
As the seasons change and summer fades into memory, the singer is left alone, holding onto nothing but memories of a love that once was. He realizes that he was so in love that he couldn't see past the façade, living in a world of make-believe that has now crumbled around him. He's left as a daydreamer, longing for something that may never return.
Overall, the song conveys a sense of loneliness and longing for lost love. The daydreamer is left to wander in the world, hoping to find someone to call his own and to share in the beauty of life.

Squash Puddle, I know what you mean. After all these years I still cannot believe he is gone. Makes you look at your own mortality.
