And he was everything that she'd been dreaming of
She was proud to be the princess of a brave matador
Cause she knew that it was her that he was always fighting for
She brings him spanish roses
Cause she can still remember
All of the spanish roses
Torero
Te quiero
Torero
Te quiero
And now he's just a dream that she used to love
Cause deep inside her heart she'll hold the memory of
The days she used to watch him as the crowd cheered his name
To the day he lost the battle and they carried him away
The lyrics of David Hasselhoff's Te Quiero tell the story of a young woman who fell deeply in love with a matador. From the beginning, she was enamored with him, seeing him as the man of her dreams, and was proud to be his princess. She recognized that he was always fighting for her and their love. In her mind, she remembers everything. She brings him Spanish roses, and it is clear how much she still loves him.
Despite the fact that it seems as though they had a strong and passionate relationship, the songs suggest that it is over. The matador is now nothing more than a memory in her heart, and although she thinks back to their time together with fondness, she knows that he is only a dream that she used to love. She remembers the days when she would watch him perform in the bullring, and how the crowds would cheer as he entered. However, in the end, he lost, and they had to take him away. Despite the loss, the woman still loves and admires him for his courage and passion.
