@wisjh Thank you! That needed to be said. Also, he was believed to be a Saint because of that. The story of Saint Nicolaas and the black pieten, who would kick you or put you in a sack and take you with them to Spain, was a story told by parents to their children so that they would behave and be obient. Ofcourse this is no longer the case but many stories of that time can still be traced back in the songs of this holiday...
