I'll Find You
David Whitfield Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Sea wife, sea wife)

I'll find you, and birds will sing again
Till I do, there'll be no spring again
I miss you like the flowers
Would miss the morning dew
The seconds seem like hours
When they're not shared with you
I'll find you, you haunt my heart and I
In each breeze I seem to hear you sigh
You tell me to forget you,
You wouldn't if you knew
I'll find no peace of mind till I find you.

(Musical Break)

You tell me to forget you,

You wouldn't if you knew
I'll find no peace of mind till I find you.

Overall Meaning

The song "I'll Find You" by David Whitfield is a romantic ballad that talks about the intense longing for someone who is missed dearly. The lyrics describe the pain and sorrow of not being able to be with the person one loves, and how their absence makes everything seem bleak and lifeless. The singer vows to find the person and make everything go back to the way it was before, when birds sang and the world was alive with the beauty of spring.

Throughout the song, the singer expresses his deep longing for the person he loves, comparing his longing to the way flowers would miss the morning dew if it were to disappear. He reveals his innermost thoughts and feelings, revealing that his thoughts are consumed by the person he longs for, and that he can’t find any peace until he finally finds the one he loves.

Overall, the song portrays the theme of love, loss, and the hope for reconnection. It represents the deep yearning for someone, the desire to connect with them and to be with them forever.

Welcome to one of my favourite singers Russell. David was the biggest star in Britain in the 1950's, he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show 8 times, a record for a British artist. I have lots of his records on here, maybe I should create a playlist of them. I'll be posting his biggest hit in a week or two.
