Overall Meaning

The song "Problem" by Davis talks about a woman who senses a change in her man's behavior, which is making her worry. The man constantly comes home late and mentions that there's a problem at the office that he can't seem to solve. The woman is suspicious that there is another woman involved because her man has bought new shirts in colors that she's never seen him wear before and has changed the way he's worn his hair for years. When they're together, they don't feel the same spark as before. The woman only saw the other woman twice, but she feels that there's something there between her man and the other woman. In the end, the woman hopes that it's not too late to work things out and talk about their problems.

I don’t think people are saying he drastically declined…. I think people are saying they expected him to take a leap if not a step forward from being a all star to a top 3 player in the world, best big man in the league, leader of the lakers, take over from lebron since lebron is 37…..

Correct me if if I’m wrong but the Lakers have had at least 2 superstars start every game…. Ie when lebron has been out Westbrook and aD start, when ad is out lebron and Westbrook have started….
Good teams with 2-3 stars when missing 1 star player are usually able to keep afloat for short periods of time…
The Lakers have had the 4th easiest schedule this season so far and have been losing to teams like OKC, Spurs, kings, etc….
For comparison people have critiqued the nets because despite their number 1 seed they haven’t beaten good teams…
Well the nets haven’t lost to bad teams either…. They handle the games they should….
If the Lakers have not lost to all those bad teams they would have be like the 3 seed right now instead of the 7th….
Memphis missed Ja morant and had an unbelievable run this year without him and are sitting pretty at the 4th seed….

I think the problem is that AD was expected to get better not worse. He’s not that much worse than he has been in his career but he’s a lot worse than the expectations most people had of him. If that’s fair or not I guess is debatable

The problem with AD is honestly his fragility. If he wasn’t getting hurt this often he would be confident enough to get down there and grind on the boards and play physical defence and play tough in the post, and he would develop the mentality that Westbrook and Giannis have. If AD would develop that mentality where he needs to be the best in the court every time he plays he would realize that he is completely unstoppable and would demand the ball the way he was doing in the playoffs. It’s all a matter of mentality, skill wise he’s a top 3 player in the league and one of the 3-5 most talented bigs ever, he just needs to develop the mentality Giannis has and he will be incredible

Don't necessarily disagree, but that type "Mamba Mentality" is not something u really develop-- you either have it, or you don't. It's not develop-able, but rather an innate characteristic imparted into one's DNA.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I cannot think of a single example of someone developing that type mindset after 5+ yrs in NBA

The argument against Kawhi is the fact that he has not proven to be a guy who helps establish a winning culture. When he was on the spurs there was no reason to expect that of him considering he had Pop and Duncan in the locker room. Then he went to the Raptors with an established team leader in Lowry so Kawhi could go out there and ball while also doing serious load management without it effect chemistry, then he goes to the Clippers where he is expected to be the tone setter/leader and not just the best player and it fell apart against the nuggets. To be fair to kawhi last year against the mavs, he dragged his team through that series and the clippers actually looked like they had some heart and thats when he went down. Maybe all of this is viewed different if he doesnt get hurt but theres no way to know. Kawhi has not shown leadership like a Lebron or Steph yet in his career.

@Thomas Lequesne Yes it’s fair to say Kawhi hasn’t won an MVP, but he’s also the only guy out of those 4 who’s won a DPOY, and he did it twice. He’s also won more finals MVP than Curry and the same as KD. So you’ve got to take those into account too.

don’t think it’s fair to criticise Kawhi’s winning run when you can easily suggest KD wasn’t winning a ring without Curry and vice versa, (Curry’s last 2) and Lebron’s 2020 run was even more easier than Kawhi’s 2019 run. Blazers, Rockets and Nuggets all had clear flaws. And with Kawhi’s run, the Sixers were regarded as favourites then at the time, yes they’ve not improved since but they’re a very tough team to beat. And they were down 2-0 against the Bucks. The reason why the bucks lost that series is BECAUSE of Kawhi. Not because Giannis wasn’t ready to win, he just wasn’t ready for Kawhi. Which is ultimately why I say it’s impossible not to have a top 5 without Kawhi and imo a top 3 because he is the only guy, not lebron, KD, Curry or even Giannis yet who will put up 30 and also guard the other teams best player consistently.

Everyone expects Kawhi to lock up a top player while still scoring 30, whereas the others only need to worry about getting points up. Yes Lebron will get his assists and Giannis is better defensively lately but we all know Kawhi is the best perimeter defender in the league, and the best 2 way guy of the top 5. And Kawhi’s offensive game is so underrated too. People act like he still averages numbers like he did with Tim Duncan, he puts up KD numbers too

Curry is the best offensive player of all times in my opinion, and LeBron and KD had already been top 3 for the past 5 years. So these 3 were the obvious top 3 before Kawhi's 2019 run. But the thing is, he did not have the level of competition that the others had overcome. He was the only one not to have an MVP trophy, and his play-offs run, great as it was, wasn't enough to make him the best as he faced Philly, whom we know aren't that great, the Bucks before they learnt how to handle the "wall scheme", and the injury-riddled Warriors.

AD is playing bad and that’s just basing this off expectations. Watching him play you can literally see AD looks lazy or checked out or he’s peaked already. Stats look good but eyes don’t fail when being objective. The team isn’t good around him so it’s making his shortcomings and regression/stagnation magnified even more cuz we lookin at AD like “Whatchu gonna do bout this bro?” He’s content with his one ring and relying on LeBron until the wheels fall off

This video wasn’t really that hard to understand and ya’ll are acting like MOST not all, but MOST of Colin’s analogies and such weren’t good. The Kawhi point was that he was always put into winning situations (not that its his fault) where all they needed was the talent of a player to elevate them. Kawhi’s defense on LeBron in 2014 was an example of the “one stop.” Kawhi’s shot against the 76ers in 2019 was an example of the “one shot.” Kawhi is a guy who’s gonna give u buckets and play defense, but he does not have a leader mentality AND is also never physically available. Always going down with major injuries that make him miss a half of a season. AD’s point is more towards the physical part as yes, he is basically never physically available because every other night he’s coming down with a new injury. But, he also is NOT as aggressive as he should be. Yes, statistically he is doing great inside the paint but the issue is he could be doing so much better if he had the mentality of someone like a Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Y’all lost me with saying we don’t watch the games if we think AD’s playing bad. I’ve watched them, he looks bad fr. Stats are part of it and he’s gonna get those but just like Westbrook numbers, stats aren’t everything. And kawhi got the criticism for the narrative becoming LeBron vs Kawhi. Toronto he got the championship but load managed like crazy so ppl criticized him for that which is fair. He lost the 3-1 lead which you can’t just gloss over like it’s nothing. He’s the leader so he’s going to get the blame just like he’d get the praise if he did win. Last season though, I genuinely think he proved doubters because he likely could have been a champion barring the injuries. Yeah I think he's sticking to this format moving forward. The content change is due to life circumstances & bsolz being burnt out from making long form video essays. The problem is LeBron gets older every year and with that AD was expected to elevate his game and with that pick up LeBron's slack and he hasn't. As of tonight the Lakers are a .500 team. AD is going to get his numbers just like Westbrook still does, that doesn't mean you're dominating or leading your team in the way you're expected or need to be. Add to the fact that he plays for the Lakers which has a tradition of bigs being able to carry a team and be the centerpiece of the franchise. If you don't think LeBron is declining you're not watching the games. He doesn't have the energy to carry a team in the same way. That's why he's settling for so many jumpers and threes. Funny, Westbrook has similar stats but you understand his impact that he's having. Football breeds leaders because everyone is interdependent on everyone else doing their job and the coach can't just yell out adjustments during a play. They also need breed conformity in football. Coaches usually aren't beholden to their star players. Vogel probably needs to make some adjustments to Westbrook but can't. You don't have to be liked as a leader, you need to be respected. Scottie can play out his inferiority complex in public now but when MJ was on his team he was standing at attention. I bet most of Belichiks players don't like him, we just finding out urban Meyer was abusive.

And i gotta agree with Colin. On paper, AD is on a huge downwards trend in every statistic. To the eye test, he's so out of touch with the game. He is hating playing the 5. He is shooting poorly. people keep acting like it's one thing, the problem isn't just 1 person, first of all, we have a defensive minded coach who's offense frankly is unimaginative and mediocre. but his defensive schemes are really good, unfortunately he doesn't have the pieces for that kind of defense when bron, as much as I love him and the fact he can play elite defense, doesn't 100% of the time (reasonable considering age, but still he is somewhat inconsistent on the defensive end), ad has been playing far far far under his potential, can't seem to hit a shot, plays like a timid highschooler trying to work up the courage to ask his crush to prom, or is seemingly perenially injured. and Westbrook, who is an inefficient scorer even when wide open, turns the ball over on big plays, and has some regularly dogshit defense, then there's melo, monk etc who when they're hot, cant seem to miss, but when they're cold they cant hit shit, (ties back into vogels offensive deficiencies; doesn't switch up the offense and lets a bunch of brick layers keep jacking up 3s and by the time we hit one, we're down 20 and need to hit more threes to possibly catch up, but we're still cold so it stays rough) and the side cast is pretty regularly lazy/bad on defense. what we need,IMO, is to trade westbrook and whatever we need to/can to get simmons, and focus on defense first over scoring along with not having the turn over god russ, we don't need ben to drop 25, if he can give us his normal 15 and play in a draymond esque way that's a huge dub, we give ar15 more minutes for his caruso like defensive tenacity, along with bron, ad, ben and our next best 3 and d guy and we ARE better than we are now

Exactly but having been a fan of LeBron for his whole career, in the past 5 years it seems LeBron is more focused on outscoring other teams rather than stopping the other team. Which explains the IT signing. He's more focused on matching the other team shot for shot rather than getting defenders and it has been a trend. So I don't expect them to do that. If they do trade anybody it'll be for more shooters who will become streaky and inconsistent and in the off-season will be traded for ,yep you guessed it more offensive minded players. And it explains why for the past few years it seems like LeBron has to score so much and get so many assists, to carry the team but in actuality while LeBron drops his 30 and 10 the opposing teams best player is going off for 35+ too and a few role players on the opposing team are also scoring with ease, because a LeBron run team helps too much and leaves shooters wide tf open because they can't stay in front of their man. Leading to repeated drive and kicks from the opposing team, or guys just let their man backdoor cut and that messes up the defense.

Sadly for you guys, this was the first video of yours I watched, and probably the last. I go to Youtube basketball channels for funny, fair, and thoughtful commentary. If I wanted to watch someone not listen to what is being said, be unable to not be overly biased, and not understand the arguments, while trying to misinterpret everything to fit your personal narrative, I will watch Undisputed or First Take. I agree with Colin's take on melo, but it's not for the same reasons that AD is in hot water. AD quite literally has all the tools you want/need in a player of that caliber, but mentally I don't think he's all there. He blocks himself from truly maximizing his potential. If you aren't inspired after LEBRON gives you the keys, idk what to tell you.

Melo had an elite skillset, but its VERY one dimensional. When you committed to a system with melo as your best player, you committed to a stagnant offense and a selfish player who's only value was literally getting a bucket. Plus, he had an insatiable ego that didn't allow those around him to shine AT ALL. His idea of an offensive set was to move in the motion of the offense until he gets the ball in the low/mid post, or top of the key, and foexes everyone else to sit and watch him work. He needed someone else to take playmaking responsibility for the team, and he had one in Jeremy Lin, but because Lin was taking Melo's shine, Melo froze him out. He played like he thought he could run things like kobe, but he was quite literally only Half the player kobe was. But his ego wouldn't hear that. And That's why he never won anything, and why he got blackballed for a year, because he was past his prime, not producing like all-star Melo, but still had the bad habits enabled by his "superstar" status. It was only when he was able to willingly play off the ball and let better talent eat, did he regain his place in the league.

What’s the Lakers record without AD. Also it’s you lots fault for saying AD was the 1B or even better than Lebron when Lebron had a bad outlier season. You put him in with certified top 1 guys at the time like Lebron and Kawhi. He performed well that season and had a burnout season after where he was injured in the suns series when they were 2-2. Like if AD was there it would be more competitive and if they won, they have a strong possibility of going to the finals where they probably lose to the bucks. But you could argue that AD is a great and experienced defender, he won’t be able to slow giannis down but they could make it hard for him especially since they were a top defensive team. Also part of the reason the Bucks won was due to Jrue and the team doing a great job on CP3 which you can’t do with LBJ. Middleton and Jrue wasn’t performing offensively in some of those games and the Lakers could have a shot. It would have been a great passing of the torch.

He deserves to be in the top 75 as he’s done more than a some of those players on the list maybe not DH but that was seriously stupid by the NBA.
