Days Of Jupiter was founded in January 2010 by Jan Hilli and Jörgen Hellström (formerly Trace of lords) along with drummer Magnus Larsson (formerly Destynation). After a few line-up changes, they formed a solid group that could provide the band with the vision of a world-class hard rock/metal band. 2010 was a year of hard work, which resulted in many live concerts in Sweden with fantastic audience reception, as well as second place in Sweden's largest competition for unsigned bands. They began recording their debut album "Secrets Brought to Life" with renowned producer Patrik Frisk (Corroded, Takada, Crash Diet) at Sidelake studios. The album was released in March 2012, shortly after the release of the single "Bleed", and received great reviews. As a result of the album's success, the band played shows at festivals such as Sweden Rock Festival, Live at Heart, Nordic Rock and Rock Out Wild.

AWAKENING
Days of Jupiter Lyrics

Ripping each other's throats
We never find peace in another
We drop each other like dominoes
Just another stepping stone
Changing the rules into violence
There's a chance we can make it somehow
We have come to a breaking point and we can't deny it
These are the time when we fight for our lives
So Just
Pray
For a new awakening
Pray
Slowly awaken me
You can't hide from yourself in this disarray
Pray
For a new awakening
Pray
That it awakens me
The time has come so rise up for a new awakening
Inherited faith we enclose ourselves
In comprehended rage
we die along with our enemies
We build our prisons within ourselves
Trying to find our place
We have been lost since our genesis
But every time we're waking up we'll find
There's a chance we can make it somehow
We have come to a breaking point and we can't deny it
These are the time when we fight for our lives
So Just
Pray
For a new awakening
Pray
Slowly awaken me
You can't hide from yourself in this disarray
Pray
For a new awakening
Pray
That it awakens me
The time has come so rise up for a new awakening
Release me from these shackles that's holding me
It's been like this for centuries
These are the time when we fight for our lives
So Just
Pray
For a new awakening
Pray
Slowly awaken me
You can't hide from yourself in this disarray
Pray
For a new awakening
Pray
That it awakens me
The time has come so rise up for a new awakening
A new awakening
The song "Awakening" by Days of Jupiter seems to be a commentary on the current state of the world, specifically the violence and conflict that plagues humanity. The lyrics speak to how we have become disconnected from one another, and how that disconnection has led to our conflicts being like "cancer grows", destructive and seemingly unstoppable. The chorus "Pray for a new awakening, slowly awaken me" is a call for a new beginning, a new way forward that will help to heal the brokenness in society. The song speaks to the need for humanity to come together, to find a way to shed our hatred and anger, and to embrace compassion and understanding.
The song speaks to the hope that we can overcome the darkness that plagues us, and ultimately find a path to a better world. It also acknowledges that this will be difficult, that we are built to fight and to defend ourselves, but that we must rise above that if we are to truly succeed.
In summary, "Awakening" is a powerful call to action, a plea for people to come together and find a way to heal the world. It acknowledges the challenges that we face, but ultimately offers a message of hope and optimism that together, we can overcome even the greatest of obstacles.

Loved the first album. Thank God the mix is great this time. Bass drums were WAY to loud last time. ;o) Good stuff here.

Can there ever be too much bass? :D Seriously, that's what I specially liked about the last album, which imho is a masterpiece in itself, that you could actually hear the drums and the bass guitar very well, which are hardly noticeable in many bands productions.
Drummer 75
I only say that because I'm a drummer myself haha :)
