Dillinger, like many of his peers, signed record deals with Death Row after being introduced to Dr. Dre by Warren G just as Dre began recording his seminal 1992 album, The Chronic. Dillinger contributed to The Chronic as well as his cousin Snoop Doggy Dogg's multi-platinum Doggystyle , Tupac Shakur's All Eyez on Me and the majority of the label's multi-platinum releases.
He released his first album Dogg Food with Kurupt as Tha Dogg Pound which went multi-platinum continuing Death Row's force as the most successful hiphop label. After Dr. Dre left the label, Daz became Death Row's main producer and was largely involved in Snoop's sophomore album Tha Doggfather and various compilations and soundtracks. After the death of Tupac Shakur, the departures of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Nate Dogg and the imprisonment of label CEO Suge Knight, Daz was the only major artist left on Death Row and mainly responsible for the work done in the label. In 1998 he released his solo-offering Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back for the first time using the more commercial-friendly artist name Daz Dillinger and even though the album reached gold status it was considered to be a commercial failure for the still high standards established by Death Row's previous releases.
Around 2000 Daz left the crumbling Death Row records and started his own imprint DPG Recordz. He released his second solo-album 2000's R.A.W. independently. Although the album didn't reach the success of his Death Row releases the album gained cult status in the underground West Coast rap scene. After that, Daz has kept on his business as CEO of his record label and has released several EP's and LP's with his name.
In 2002 Daz and his long time friend Kurupt parted ways because the latter rejoined Death Row and Daz's "arch-enemy" Suge Knight. Since that Daz and Kurupt have each released several dis records aimed at each other.
On April 13, 2005, Daz reunited with Kurupt through the peace meeting labelled "Protect the West", in which several other West Coast rap icons united to put aside their differences in hope of succeeding together.
Daz released an album on Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label titled 'So So Gangsta ' which's was released September 12, 2006

Don't be foolish nigga, don't be foolish nigga.
The lyrics of "Don't Be Foolish" by Daz Dillinger featuring Snoop Dogg Kurupt are straightforward and highlight the resolve of the Dogg Pound Gangsta Crips (DPGC) against rumors of their breakup. This track is a kind of unapologetic, angry diss-wording at those who thought that the group would split up or fall out of the game. Snoop opens the song by saying that people always ask him, "Is the m*thaf*ckin' DPGC still together?" and tells everyone to stop being foolish and to stop talking rumors. Kurupt asserts his role as a rider, his love for gangsta life, and expresses his gangsta identity by vowing to beat someone until his eyes turn purple. Daz is the next one to come up, making it clear that his focus is on his family's welfare and not foolishness. He says he doesn't hang around with buffoons and vows to keep it raw and gritty. At the end of the song, they give a final warning to everyone not to believe rumors about their group, as they are still together and will continue to come out with albums.

People frequently ask me whether the DPGC is still united, and some individuals even suggest that we have disbanded like the Fat Boys.
Nigga what, nigga this dogg pound for life nigga
We ain't going nowhere nigga
In matter of fact, you actin foolish right now with all that shit you kick
Nigga everywhere I go niggas be actin foolish
And uh, I'm a deal with that shit dpg style
This is the Dogg Pound for life, and we are not going anywhere. In fact, you are acting foolish with your talk right now, and I encounter these types of individuals whenever I go out. However, I will handle the situation in the DPG's manner.
I'm a rider, the first local stock pilot
Now what the fuck made you think the dp divided
Moving on up to the top of the map
Because gangsta will be here till the curl comeback
I'm moving down to block d, me and my homies
The dogg pound would rock overseas, immense degrees
No bitch niggas in the circle
Beat a nigga in his face till his fuckin eyes turn purple
I am a skilled rider, the foremost local pilot. Why did you believe that DPG had split up? We are ascending to the highest point on the map. Our gangsterism will persist until the return of curly hair. My crew and I are relocating to block D where the Dogg Pound will perform overseas at epic levels. There are no weak individuals in our group, and we are willing to fight until our opponents' eyes are swollen and purple.
I told myself watch out for my family and health
I got my shit together, got the gauge up shelf
Knowing the rules have chose to hang out with the dummies and fools
Old school poda dada that I knew from way back to school
Attitude shitty, kept it raw and gritty
Uncut, me and my dawgs fuckin it up
What up
I have realized the value of safeguarding my family and health. Furthermore, I have prepared myself for emergencies by acquiring a firearm. Although people who do not comprehend the principles often surround me, I elect to spend time with my dumber friends since they are my oldest companions. Despite my less-than-spectacular attitude, I take pride in being genuine and unpolished, and me and my crew are causing mischief.
Fuckin it up, fuckin it up for life nigga, dogg pound, ya heard
If I hear another nigga talking about what he gon do, to who
To me and my crew, nigga the grey and the blue
You through, you knew you shouldn't have done that
Now how the fuck you figure that we wasn't gon comeback
The d, the p, the g to see
Westcoast's finest and I'm a put that on me
See niggas been rappin but they ain't sayin shit
Nigga shut the fuck up, get off my dick
We are simply causing destruction and will continue to do so indefinitely, as we represent the Dogg Pound. If you threaten me or my crew, you are finished, and you should have known better. How could you possibly believe that we would not retaliate? DPGC reigns supreme on the West Coast, and I guarantee it. Moreover, many individuals in the rap community talk a lot but do not say anything worthwhile, so they should keep quiet.
Don't be foolish x2
Do not be foolish.
You see you don't wanna fuck with us
Knowing how we throw it out, the sucka niggas want to imitate us
Cause all we wanna do is put the g right back in you
Yeah worry about your muthafuckin punk ass crew
And we keeps it gangsta fool, that's gangsta, keep it gangsta fool
You should avoid conflict with us because we know how to cause a scene, and those who are inadequate strive to emulate us. Our objective is to reintroduce the gangster ethos into the individuals around us. Pay attention to your worthless crew, and we will continue to be true to our gangster roots.
Trip, we got more dough than rock up, more niggas to lock up
You niggas need to strap up or pack up
See because this world we live in is crazy, and the people they so sick
See why I keeps it gangsta and I ride with the sickest clique
And when it comes to gun play, hell yeah we the quickest biach
Listen, we have more money than a drug dealer and more people to put behind bars than a police officer. You need to arm yourself or flee from danger since the world is insane and the population is unwell. That is why I remain gangster and travel with the most exceptional group. And when it comes to firearms, yes, we are the most efficient.
And oh my momma and my daddy, grandpapa and my granny
Homeboy you can't fuck with this
My whole family supports the Dogg Pound, and you should not contest us.
Smooth when we come through
The dp when we come through the gangstas is in the house
And all you muthafuckin niggas and you muthafuckin bitches
Get a muthafuckin dick in your mouth
I'm a gangsta I thought you knew, g'd up, grey and blue
Dippin through on the coop, made you blue
Kurupt and snoop, daz in the muthafuckin bomb ass clique
We gangstas nigga, laid back thinkin I tell you how it is in the hood
Where all my homies at, straps in cadillacs
Hittin switches like e'yday, livin like the g way like e'yday, dpg-see
We glide seamlessly when we arrive somewhere, and the Dogg Pound is present when we are there. Male and female gendered individuals should stop talking nonsense and perform fellatio. I am a gangster, and everyone should already be aware of that, and I am dressed up in grey and blue. Ride with me in the convertible while I cause jealousy in others. My associates and I are the ultimate gangster clique. At a relaxed pace, I will inform you of how things work in the neighborhood. Where are my friends with handguns in Cadillacs? We are constantly changing gears and living like the gangsta lifestyle every day. DPG-see.
Hook
Referring to the chorus section repeated previously in the song.
Chorus x4
The chorus section, which is a repeated part of the song, is comprised of the phrase 'Don't be foolish' sung four times in a row.
Just bullshittin man this dude done told me the dogg pound broke up
Wait till I catch that nigga, I'm a beat him down
Wait till I, wait till I catch em
Dogg pound ain't gon never break up cause that's favorite group
They gon keep on commin out with albums
Wait till I catch this nigga, he lied to me
This did done tell me some stupid bullshit
Wait till I catch that muthafucker
Man don't be foolish and believe that shit
Shit man, don't be foolish
Don't be foolish, nigga
The person who told me that the Dogg Pound disbanded was lying. I will confront this individual and bring upon them an untold number of physical strikes. The Dogg Pound is my preferred musical group, and they will continue to release new albums. The individual who lied to me did a foolish thing, and I will take my revenge when the time comes. Do not be foolish and accept their lies. Seriously, do not be foolish, my friend.
Don't be foolish nigga, don't be foolish nigga.
This part of the song is a direct, repeated admonition to not be foolish.
