Dillinger, like many of his peers, signed record deals with Death Row after being introduced to Dr. Dre by Warren G just as Dre began recording his seminal 1992 album, The Chronic. Dillinger contributed to The Chronic as well as his cousin Snoop Doggy Dogg's multi-platinum Doggystyle , Tupac Shakur's All Eyez on Me and the majority of the label's multi-platinum releases.
He released his first album Dogg Food with Kurupt as Tha Dogg Pound which went multi-platinum continuing Death Row's force as the most successful hiphop label. After Dr. Dre left the label, Daz became Death Row's main producer and was largely involved in Snoop's sophomore album Tha Doggfather and various compilations and soundtracks. After the death of Tupac Shakur, the departures of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Nate Dogg and the imprisonment of label CEO Suge Knight, Daz was the only major artist left on Death Row and mainly responsible for the work done in the label. In 1998 he released his solo-offering Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back for the first time using the more commercial-friendly artist name Daz Dillinger and even though the album reached gold status it was considered to be a commercial failure for the still high standards established by Death Row's previous releases.
Around 2000 Daz left the crumbling Death Row records and started his own imprint DPG Recordz. He released his second solo-album 2000's R.A.W. independently. Although the album didn't reach the success of his Death Row releases the album gained cult status in the underground West Coast rap scene. After that, Daz has kept on his business as CEO of his record label and has released several EP's and LP's with his name.
In 2002 Daz and his long time friend Kurupt parted ways because the latter rejoined Death Row and Daz's "arch-enemy" Suge Knight. Since that Daz and Kurupt have each released several dis records aimed at each other.
On April 13, 2005, Daz reunited with Kurupt through the peace meeting labelled "Protect the West", in which several other West Coast rap icons united to put aside their differences in hope of succeeding together.
Daz released an album on Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label titled 'So So Gangsta ' which's was released September 12, 2006

Man, nigga (?) is tore up, knahmsayin?
Shh, hop in the car, yo-yo-yo turn that music down
Yeah-yeah, why'knahmsayin?
Let's jack these niggaz for what they got, knahmsayin?
Heard these niggaz got some big paper on them
Dope sacks and all that shit
Get the gauge nigga, c'mon, let's go, we out!
[Daz]
It's another bad day in the hood
My clientele's doin small, my profits ain't nuttin good
Hit a couple licks (hit 'em up!) in a matter of seconds we rich
Now it's all about kimo bricks, and fresh toxics to get is in the mix
It ain't hard to tell my clientele by makin mayor
But fuck the cops and these feds tryin to take this rack to jail
Hop the gate (hit 'em up!) to get away, this pack ain't gon' catch us
And a undercover G, ahh, our plates is from Texas
Got the bombers, fuck the moto that niggaz never smoke
Got the weed that when you take a tote you gonna choke
Out of town, we put it down in a major way
Never knew or had a clue that we could make some major pay
Load up by Rucker's
Gettin step and never know who gon' get shady doin business
So we never slept in powder box and hot, snitches
And fiends, and cops, makin niggaz shit hot, so we relocate the spot
We got some bitches doin dirty work, outta down (?) the work
Come back wit our bread, break a nigga or some hands (BIATCH!)
That's the way I love it, you know I love that shit
The way I fucks a bitch and clock the green
[sung] Because it's all about the money man
[Daz] You can't get nuttin without it
[sung] It's all about the money, money, money, money
[Daz] That's what the ballers got
[sung] Said it's all about the money man

[Daz] Aww
[sung] Said it's all about the money, money, money, money
[Daz] Run it, run it, run it
[Daz]
Fresh broads and five hundred thousand dollars homes
And mobile phones (yeah!) better play the coke
Smokin weed by the zones (the pound)
Got a down ass bitch to help me get through shit
When times get rough at times you know you can't trust no bitch
Keep my eye for them high, and a motherfucker tune it out
Zulu's out, livin life homey, that's what it's all about
Bustin niggaz, dustin niggaz, fo' all out, respect
Sprayin niggaz down wit the tec, aww shit
Maintainin bangin me mad, still I do my thang
Fly my niggaz in stadium style, from the gang
Three-fifty-seven's, forty-fives, get the party live
Get the dumpin the niggaz that runnin for they lives
(FUCKER!) Me and my potnahs in the town, slang dick deep
Through twenty pieces, quarter pound to support the kings
Whatchu need is what we got
From the break you diss me to your favorite block
We be settin up shottin what's mine, tec wit a glock
To let you know, motherfucker that it don't stop
Makin bills for a quarter mill', this life we live is way to real
From hustin rock to fuckin bitches that's top knotch (biatch!)
This fast life made Shaq crazy, at actin outta control
To let you know-know what the fuck we rollin, ganja, ganja rolls
Swoopin through the streets to let you motherfuckers know (know) ..

[Daz] Can't do nuttin without it
[sung] It's all about the money, money, money, money

The song "It's All About That Money" by Daz Dillinger describes the criminal activities of a group of drug dealers as they rob their clients and evade the law. The opening lines set the scene as they plan to rob someone for their money and drugs. The lyrics talk about making small profits, but through making quick hits, they are able to become rich. They revel in the danger of their line of work, and do not care about the harm they inflict on others. They have to be careful of snitches and corrupt police who would love to see them in jail.
The main theme of the song is money, and how everything they do is about getting more of it, through any means necessary. They feel that the only way to get ahead in life is to acquire wealth, and they use violence, theft, and drug dealing to do so. It is a harsh reality of life on the streets, where there is no room for the weak. This song is a portrayal of the dark side of society and its effects on young people.
