The lyrics of Dazaranha's Padre describe the arrival of the devil on an island, and the troubles that follow. The repetition of "O diabo desembarcou" (the devil disembarked) creates a sense of foreboding, as the devil's arrival signifies danger and chaos. The following verses, however, describe a more mundane scene - the peaceable actions of a local priest. The priest is described as "escreveu na sua bata paz" (writing peace on his robe), which suggests that he is trying to bring calm to a situation that is becoming increasingly turbulent. The repetition of these lines ("Escreveram na bata do padre paz") implies that the message of peace is not being received by others. The next line - "a batina tem pano fraco" (the robe has weak fabric) - suggests that the priest is struggling to maintain peace in the face of forces that are threatening to tear it down. The repetition of "Dazaranha quem" (Who is Dazaranha?) at the end of the verse adds to this sense of questioning and uncertainty.

The second verse is a surreal, dreamlike interlude that seems to have little to do with the rest of the song. The lyrics describe someone who eats beans with detergent, sleeps in the rain and is content with their situation. They are also able to distinguish between Coca-Cola and cocaine ("não confunde coca com coca e moca com coca") and can squat down with ease. These verses are likely meant to convey a sense of absurdity and disorientation - as if the world has been turned upside down by the devil's arrival.
