De Saloon Lyrics

Que me dice, que quieres de mi
Tire la cuerda y balanceé
Al muerto, dos veces y más
Y tu me quieres matar
Que me quieres matar...
Que me quieres matar
Con tus besos, son de queso
Que me quieres matar
Que me quieres matar
Con tu sombra, es de sobras
Cuento los granos, del reloj
Con pena fúnebre sol
Sin querer me comí el corazón
Remordimiento feliz en mi boca
Y tú me quieres matar
Que me quieres matar
De por muerte felizmente
Me quieres mucho, poquito o nada
Te quiero nada poquito, mucho
The lyrics of De Saloon's song "Brígida" tell a story of a person trapped in a relationship that is suffocating and potentially harmful. The song begins with a mention of a clock in a salon, which symbolizes the passage of time and the singer's awareness of the situation they are in. The clock tells them that someone wants something from them, and they feel compelled to comply to avoid being hurt.
The lyrics then describe the singer's actions of pulling the clock's string and swinging it back and forth, as if trying to bring life to something that is already dead. This reflects their attempts to salvage the relationship, even though it seems futile. The repetition of the line "Y tú me quieres matar" (And you want to kill me) suggests that the singer feels trapped and controlled by the other person's desires.
The chorus emphasizes the destructive nature of the relationship, with the use of food-related metaphors. The kisses are described as "son de queso" (cheese kisses), implying that they lack genuine emotions and are only superficial. The mention of a shadow being "de sobras" (leftovers) suggests that the other person's presence is unwanted and burdensome.
In the second verse, the singer counts the grains of the clock with a mournful tone, indicating a sense of sadness and resignation. They admit to unintentionally consuming their own heart, symbolizing the self-destructive nature of the relationship. Despite the remorse they feel, there is also a twisted sense of happiness, reflected in the line "remordimiento feliz en mi boca" (happy remorse in my mouth).
The final lines of the song reveal a conflicted dynamic between the singer and the other person. The singer questions the level of affection the other person has for them, and in response, they claim to feel varying degrees of love, but ultimately confessing to loving the other person very little or not at all.
Overall, "Brígida" portrays a tumultuous and toxic relationship where one person feels controlled and manipulated, grappling with conflicting emotions of love, remorse, and a desire for freedom.
