Partido en dos
De Saloon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Para estar tranquilo, amor
Cuánta agua ha de cruzar
Por este río, me rio yo.
(si de éste)
Y es así como ves
Todo cambia de una vez
Y es así nada más
Coro:
Si queda algo en tu corazón
No lo quiero ni escuchar.
Sabes que te quise y fue la razón
que ahora me tengo que alejar
todo lo que hice, lo hice por ti
Y ahora nada queda, amor.
Todo está partido en dos...
The lyrics of De Saloon's "Partido en dos" reflect the feelings of heartbreak and the frustration of not being able to move on. The song opens up with the singer questioning how long they have to wait to be at peace with their love. The river is symbolic of the journey they have to undertake, to move on from this heartbreak. However, the singer sarcastically remarks how they can't take this journey as nothing is flowing.
The chorus is the most poignant part of the song, as the singer is urging their lover to move on and leave nothing behind. The singer is imploring their lover not to hold onto the past and the love they shared, as it only serves to create more heartbreak. The singer is firm in their stance, acknowledging that their love was real, but in moving on, the relationship should remain in the past. The line, "Todo está partido en dos" roughly translates to "Everything is split in two." This line is a reflection of the singer's heart and how it's been torn into pieces, as they try to move on.
